This is a sub-page of 4x4 EVO 2 (Windows, Mac OS Classic, Mac OS X).

This game has a whole lot more unused content than its predecessor. Particularly, its SOUND.POD file contains plenty of unused sound effects possibly as space fillers.

Vehicles

File Name Notes
1000RPM A group of vehicle engine sound effects. None of them are used as the engine sound effect in the final release of the game sounds exactly the same as the one in the first game.

File Name Notes
ABCYOTE.01 4x4 EVO 1's file of a stock cartoon sound effect of a coyote.
ABCYOTE.02 Another file of a stock cartoon coyote sound effect from the first game.
ABJETS.01 A couple sound effects of jets passing by.
ABJETS.02
AIRHORN3 A stock sound effect of a long air horn, which was part of the checkpoint sound effect previously used in Monster Truck Madness 2 (another racing video game developed by Terminal Reality). Just like the first 4x4 Evolution game, this sound effect file never has any purpose for this game.
ASOWL.02 A mix of stock sound effects of crickets and an owl.
ASOWL A file of a standalone stock owl sound effect from the first game, which would have been used when driving at night or pitch black if they weren't cut from this game.
A-COUNTRY-DAY A bunch of nature ambience sound effects for various locations in the game. Unfortunately, none of them play in most versions of this game, but only the Xbox version does use some of them.

TROP-BIRD1 Five sound files of tropical birds (including a duplicate of the bird sound effect that plays in both the first game and 4x4 EVO 2 when you're near some black birds in all tracks), but they're nowhere to be heard. However, TROP-BIRD1.WAV is heard in the promotional demo counterparts, "Jeep 4x4 EVO 2" and "Jeep 4x4: Trail of Life."

TUG-BOAT A tugboat engine sound effect, which should have been used for the tugboat in Castle Rock, but it isn't.
TUG-HORN1 Two sound files of stock tugboat horn sound effects. Like the tugboat engine sound effect above, both horn sounds aren't used.
TUG-HORN2

Checkpoint Sounds

File Name Notes
BELL.01 The original checkpoint sound effect from the first game. This was only heard in the alpha and early beta versions.
CHECK1 Either one of these sounds would have been used when driving through checkpoints, but none of them are heard in the game at all. Only CHECK3.WAV is used in the late beta and final releases of this game.

BAR-IN-CANCEL Judging from its file date (5/1/2000), this sound could have been used in the first game as a placeholder UI sound, but it serves no purpose in the sequel.
BAR-IN-OK Same as the other bar-in sound above.
