Static Seal TV
An early, non-animated version of the Seal TVs in the level. Can be seen in the DLC's reveal trailer.
Unused Task Master Guideline Design
An unused design for the guidelines that appear during Ship Shape. This design is much bigger than the final's.
Unused Carpet Designs
Unused, less purple carpet designs.
Unused Red Reception Room Wall
An unused and completely different color wall texture for the reception room aboard the ship. This was actually used on one half of the room earlier in The Arctic Cruise's development, and an earlier version of the reception room's wall model found in the May 28 2018 DLC 1 leak actually has its materials set up to use it! This red wall can also be seen in some concept art that is actually on the right wall in the Spaceship's basement in-game.
Unused Carpet
An unused carpet with a fairly simple design. Its filename states it was meant for stairs somewhere, and given its color scheme and the presence of stairs in the kitchen leading to the laundry room, this might be an early version of the carpet for that location.
Unused Shell Design
Unused | Used |
---|---|
An unused, fancier and far more detailed design for a seashell exists. Sadly, it goes unused in the final game, which instead uses the more basic design used in Mafia Town. As of the October 8 2021 update to the Experimental branch of the game, this seashell design across all levels of the game was changed to use this updated texture instead and continued to appear in Experimental branch updates until the texture appeared in the main public branch of the game on November 2 2021. With this update to the game, the Arctic Cruise design is now used, and the original Mafia Town version is unused.
Unused Dining Room Wall Design
An unused design for the walls in the dining room aboard the ship. The pattern on the bottom of this texture was snipped out and made its own decal texture in the final game.
Unused Lounger Design
An unused, fancy lounger design with darker wood. In-game, the loungers in the level just use the basic Mafia Town version.
Emissive Reception Room Texture
An emissive texture for the reception room on the ship. If applied to the material, it lights up the diamond shape in the middle, giving the floor a very different feel.
Casino Light Normal Map
A normal map for the lights in the casino room.
Ship Engine ALB Map Texture
An ALB map texture for the spinning power generators in the engine room.
Vase Test Textures
Test textures for the tall vases seen in the level. The design is completely different from the final game's which looks much more polished, and has patterns and a fish motif.
Room Name Decals
Decal name textures for various rooms aboard the ship.
Pipe Texture
A pipe texture. Could've worked in numerous places. Its associated normal map, interestingly, is used somewhere in the final game.
Elevator Mask Texture
A mask texture for the elevator. Unknown purpose.
Unknown Mask Texture
A unknown masking texture with an unknown purpose.
Early Designs
There's some early designs of a handful of assets for The Arctic Cruise present. Unless otherwise noted, none of these had their own material and thus a copy of the final's was made for the model comparison.
Early Elevator Design
Early | Final |
---|---|
The floor of the elevator had its colors reversed, and also shinier within the texture itself. The blue circle design in the middle is darker and lacks the bright rim. The design along the bottom of the walls of the elevator is a bit more orange and less defined.
Early Reception Desk Design
Early | Final |
---|---|
The texture for the complaints book is slightly different and lacks the ":3" on the cover. The keyboard part of the texture is very rough, and the blue screen on the computers is far more basic and lacks a gradient. The walrus drawing on the napkins is also slightly different.
Early Casino Ledge Design
Early | Final |
---|---|
The design on the bottom is slightly thinner, and the normal map does not use it in its design.
Early "On The Rocks" Sign
Early | Final |
---|---|
The letters gained shadows in the final version, as well as the holes in the ice. The outline was also changed from black to brown.
Early Crystal Plant Design
Early | Final |
---|---|
The earlier version actually uses a normal map, something the final version doesn't do. Aside from that, the only real major difference is the color of the base of the pink plants is different in the early version.
Early Mermaseal Statue Design
Early | Final |
---|---|
The early version lacks most of the final's details, and the text on the bottom is brighter and lacks an outline.
Early Balcony Designs
Early | Final |
---|---|
The earlier design is much bluer and the green lights are very subdued.
Early | Final |
---|---|
The early version's middle pattern isn't lit up, the design of the middle section is more simplistic, and it lacks the pattern on the bottom.
Early Origami Designs
Early | Final |
---|---|
The eyes on the early versions are clearer, but less detailed. The origami models also have simple black lines going along their creases, giving them an almost wireframe-like look.
Early Pirate Slide Design
Early | Final |
---|---|
The designs are the same. The early version only lacks extra detail that the final version has.
Early Creche Room Plant Design
Early | Final |
---|---|
The early version is very basic, lacking most details seen in the final version.
Early Creche Stool Design
Early | Final |
---|---|
The paint on the blue table is blurrier and somehow more defined in the final version. The rim of the blue table is also brighter in the final.
Early Creche Globe Design
Early | Final |
---|---|
The earlier version is less detailed and has a more cartoony look to it.
Early Creche Toy Bag Design
Early | Final |
---|---|
The final version has considerably more detail than the early version. The blue area is much larger in the final version, and the two colored circles are the same color in the early version, whereas the final has one blue and one red.
Early Shell Wall Light Design
Early | Final |
---|---|
The appearance of the early version is completely different from the final's. Overall, the early version is less detailed.
Early Wall Shell Light Design
Early | Final |
---|---|
The red lines in the creases of the shell are thinner in the final version, and the early version has additional detail that is missing in the final. The base of the early version is much more red, as well.
Early Lifeboat Design
Early | Final |
---|---|
The early version lacks the star patterns on the side, but is twice the resolution, being 1024x1024.
