Badge Rarity Models
Models for the scrapped Badge Rarity system. The first one was used in the Beta builds for the scrapped Ice Statue Badge, although it wasn't able to be obtained normally in those builds. The rest of the models are for rarities that could be won through the Time Rift Roulette and served no gameplay purpose, according to a developer.
Rainbow Balloon and Ancient Tablet
The unique rainbow balloon that could be seen floating around the skies of Mafia Town in the Beta builds. Popping it would drop a scrapped Ancient Tablet item.
The model for the tablet is also present. This model would eventually be used in the Vanessa's Curse Creator's DLC.
Collectible Bird
The collectible bird, used in builds that predate the Prototype builds. This little fella was used in a minigame where Hat Kid would ride a rocket and try to fly around and collect all of them. Much like its HUD icon, this model and its texture have long since been completely removed from the Modding Tools.
Coffee Maker
The Cocoa Pot, a scrapped "weapon" meant for a scrapped minigame in Mafia Town. It has partial coding remaining in the initial release of the final game, where Hat Kid cannot use it to attack at all. She was meant to use it to pour cocoa for certain Mafia around town and/or Mafia HQ.
Cog
A cog, which is a very old leftover from builds that predate the Prototype builds. In Calcite, Hat Kid would collect these and give them to Thor.
Prototype Pon
The old version of the Pon, used in the Prototype and Alpha builds. Its swirly swirl animation is intact.
Sand 'n Sails Flute and Flute Stand
A flute and flute stand, which were intended to be the relics meant for unlocking the Purple Rift for Sand 'n Sails, alongside the snake basket. HUD icons for these are not known to have been made.
Lilac's Headset
Lilac's headpieces from the official Freedom Planet crossover mod, untextured. A texture for it does exist, though. Unused in the base game.
Niko Hat
The Niko hat, which would go on to be used only in the official One Shot mod made by Gears For Breakfast.
Cowboy Hat
The model for the scrapped cowboy hat flair for the Time Stop Hat, made for DLC 2. A HUD icon for it was not made in time for release, so it went unused.
Old Witch Hat
The original Witch Hat, used in the Alpha and Beta builds of the game, is nowhere to be seen in the final. Note that it no longer fits atop Hat Kid's head properly, due to parameters in Hat Kid's socket for it being modified since the Beta builds.
Kickstarter Hat
The game's Kickstarter hat, which was the winner in a design contest that was held early on in development. This model is technically used in-game, but only as an easter egg in a handful of areas, and never with its original texture. The Kickstarter Hat was planned as DLC at some point, but was never used for one reason or another. The DLC is still viewable on Steam DB's page for the game.
Old Hat Kid Hat
The original model for Hat Kid's hat, used in prerelease builds prior to the Speedrun builds.
Old Tinfoil Hat
An older version of the Tinfoil Time Stop Hat flair, found only in the earliest version of the Modding Tools.
Mafia Tie
A Mafia Tie, a scrapped item that was present in all public prerelease builds of the game, except the Speedrun builds. Mafia were still coded to drop these in the final game, but the coding was blocked manually and has long since been removed.
Pin
The original model for Badges, used in the Alpha and Prototype builds. The model is thinner than the final's variant, and is a bit smaller, too.
Raccoon Hat
The model for the unused Raccoon Hat, which was meant to be a flair for the Time Stop Hat. A snot bubble is meant to be attached to its nose via a socket.
Unused LOD Models
Base Model: 2002 Polygons, 1316 Vertices.
LOD 1: 1507 Polygons, 1039 Vertices.
LOD 2: 993 Polygons, 725 Vertices.
LOD 3: 486 Polygons, 412 Vertices.
Smashified Umbrella
Present in the earliest versions of the Modding Tools is the actual umbrella model used in the Smashified video for Hat Kid! A texture for it is present and is used by the model, but the model seems to be somewhat broken, as no texture will show up on this model; it'll just remain as it appears here, using the default texture. This model has long since been removed from the Modding Tools.
Speed Boost
The Speedboost powerup seen in the Beta's version of Train Rush is present, just as it appeared in that version of the game.
Star
A shiny, metallic star. The model is an old leftover, dating to February of 2013, however, this star was the original main collectible in the scrapped Moon Stars act for Trainwreck of Science. Sometime after the Beta but before the final game, the main collectible was changed to an egg creature.
Thor's Hat
Thor's hat, as it appeared in the Prototype, Alpha, and Beta builds. Note that it no longer fits atop Hat Kid's head properly, due to parameters in Hat Kid's socket for it being modified since the Beta builds.
Viking Helmet
A viking helmet. According to concept art, this was likely intended to be worn by Mafia while fighting Mafia Boss. It is untextured normally, but there is a texture for it in the Modding Tools:
Yarn Loose Thread
A small model intended for Yarn could be found in the earliest versions of the Modding Tools, and has long since been removed. This model actually matches up with the appearance of Yarn in their HUD icons! It seems, before the particle version of the loose yarn was added to each Yarn collectible, all of them had a little tail sticking out. An example of how it could've appeared:
The model is 1022 polygons, which isn't too high-poly, but it might've been replaced with the particle in the final game to try to improve game performance, as a particle is far less taxing to render.
