Blaster Master Boy is actually the sequel to the NES game RoboWarrior. Basically, this game is more closely related to Bomberman than it is Blaster Master.

The boss of stage 4 is a snake-like creature that travels around the arena while expanding its body. It was changed from... some one-eyed thing, to something that looks more like an actual snake, possibly in an attempt to make it look less phallic.
