In Bonk: Brink of Extinction, Earth is threatened by the approach of a giant meteor, and Bonk must travel to the planet's core in order to steer it away from the collision course.

While the game was cancelled, with it being thought to be in part due to the 2011 Tohoku disaster as well as Konami acquiring the game's to-be publisher Hudson Soft, three prototypes of the Xbox 360 version are known to have been released. This page covers the latest one, dated December 10, 2010, which was released as part of ObscureGamers' Terarelease 3.0.

NOTE: The game's .bnk files are merely .zip packages. In order to extract them, merely change the file extension.

Unused Text

Throughout the executable are several leftover strings from Quake III Arena. It's worth noting that this game, as evidenced by the presence of a productid.txt file within bonk\bonk.bnk, as well as an abundance of familiar scripting and file formats, seems to have been created using a modified version of Quake III Arena‍ 's id Tech 3 engine with the addition of (a modified version of) Doom 3‍ 's MD5 model format.
