So very stubbly.
This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion.
Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article?

The fourth game in the Bust-A-Move series. This game is rather infamous for its hilariously bad English translation.

Prototype Info

Unused Graphics

PB4PSX MonstaUnused.png
Odd and probably unfinished frames of animation for Monsta, which are not in the prototype. These resemble one of Maita's animations.

PB4PSX WoolenContinuePic1 Final.png
An extra frame for Woolen's continue picture. None of the continue pictures are animated in-game.

PB4PSX MainMenuExit.png
In the Japanese version, this is stored alongside the menu graphics... which are all Japanese text otherwise! The international versions of the game use a differently styled font.

Oddities

Stage Select Gameplay
PB4PSX MaitaStageSelect.png PB4PSX MaitaGameplay.png

Maita's frame used in the stage select is different from the one used elsewhere; it's even older than the one from the demo version.

The eye shading is rougher in this early sprite, and little touch ups were made to the white robe.

Version Differences

  • As usual for the series, the game's original title was altered accordingly for the localizations.
  • Excluding the rendered overscan, the Japanese versions also run at a somewhat higher resolution.
  • The intro cutscene is completely absent in the Simple re-release.
