Unused Weapon

|
Prior to the launch of Season 4, content was added for a weapon called HK G28. This weapon had no assets but did have stats, which a dataminer described as "accuracy on par with the sniper rifles, but average range and damage." This weapon was never released.
Unused Weapon Variants
Below is a YouTube video compiling various cut weapon variants in Modern Warfare.
Early Weapon Variants
During Modern Warfare's content cycle many early versions of weapons were added either mid season or as part of the Battle Pass. Below are a few videos showing early variants of said weapons. Many of them are simply the released weapon with broken/missing textures, but some are different from their release counterparts.
Notable differences include:
- The JAK-12 has a very high amount of recoil.
- The Rytec AMR has no recoil, unlike its released counterpart, which is quite the opposite.
Cut AX-50 Variant
The AX-50 was originally named after the CheyTac Intervention before being given a generic name in retail, likely for licensing reasons.
Unused Blueprints

The following blueprints exist in the game but are either unobtainable or were never officially released. Most content is sourced from COD Tracker.

Kilo 141 "Fatal Freeze" | Epic | Take their chances of winning below zero with the Fatal Freeze Assault Rifle. | Commando Foregrip, PBX Holo 7 Sight, Singaurd Arms Sniper Pro | Planned for Season 3 as a PS4 exclusive but never released. AX-50 "Golden Dream" | Legendary | Think of the riches to come with the Golden Dream Sniper Rifle. | Appears to have been randomly given to people due to a glitch. | [7] |
Unseen Weapon Content
- Weapons eject bullet casings in third person, a detail that cannot normally be seen due to the casings being so small and other things usually occurring on screen. A video of this for most weapons can be seen here.
- The X16 and .50 GS slides actually move back in-game, showing the chamber of the pistols and that there is a bullet in their magazines ready to be loaded. When the last bullet has been fired, neither pistol has a bullet left in their magazine. These details cannot be seen in-game due to these animations going by too fast.
- The bullet casings ejected out of the .50 GS are hollow, but this cannot be seen due to the speed of the animation.
- The bullets in the P90's magazine disappear as bullets are fired. This cannot normally be seen due to the effect being very subtle.
- M13:
- The inside of the .300 Blackout 30-Round Mags is green, which cannot normally be seen due to the speed of the reload. This can be seen at 2:42 in this video.
- When the gun has exhausted all reserve ammo and the current magazine ammo, the bolt on the model locks back, which can be seen via weapon inspect. This cannot normally be encountered due to only occurring in situations that are not ideal for weapon inspection. A video of this detail can be seen here.
- AK-47:
- The weapon's inspect animation actually moves the player's view slightly to the right, but this cannot be noticed.
- When hip firing, the charging handle actually moves but this cannot be noticed.
- The shotgun shells ejected from the 725 are labelled "No. 00 BUCKSHOT", but this cannot be read due to the speed at which the shells are ejected.
- The Model 680's shells have a unique design and are hollow, details which cannot be seen in-game due to the speed at which the shells are ejected.
- The minigun of the Juggernaut ejects belt clips, but this cannot be seen due to the speed at which they fall. This can be seen here at 4:26.
Unused Attachments
To do:
|
The game contains some unused attachments.
- The game has an unused Russian ACOG scope.
- The Dragunov has an unused barrel attachment, called "Do not use", that is a shorter version of its normal barrel. This attachment appears to be broken as its effect is to drastically reduce bullet velocity. Additionally, the barrel does not display properly in the weapon's icon.
- The Singaurd Arms Featherweight barrel for the X16 appears to have originally made the pistol fully automatic, as there is a selector switch with an automatic fire option on the slide and this attachment's name internally is "auto".
Unused Attachment Combinations
To do:
|
Several weapons have unused attachment options.
- X16:
- Viper Reflex Sight
- Aim-Op Reflex Sight - Appears normally in the Gunsmith.
- VLK 2.5x Optic - Might have been intended to use a shorter scope as the one used extends behind the pistol.
- 1911 with Monocle Reflex Sight - Functions properly in-game, but uses the normal Monocle Reflex Sight model instead of a customized one, as the front bar of the normal one clips through the ejector slot.
- Dragunov with Iron Sights - Appears properly in the Gunsmith. In-game the iron sights do not appear to be properly aligned as the notch in the front sight is barely visible, although the sights still function perfectly. Recoil is similar to the base scope and has a similar ADS time. Footage of this weapon can be seen here and here.
Unused Weapon Perk Compatibility
The game contains unused data for Akimbo compatibility with the MP7.
