This article is a work in progress.
...Well, all the articles here are, in a way. But this one moreso, and the article may contain incomplete information and editor's notes.
So very stubbly.
This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion.
Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article?

Candy Box 2, released a handful of months after the first game, is notable both for its charming ASCII art style and for being an influential entry in the incremental genre.

The game was made open source on July 26th, 2017, but was last updated in 2021.

Unused Text

Its teeth
its teeth
You died in the cellar. Rats are probably going to eat your body.

The name for the weapon used by the rats and associated death text for the cellar.

The rats' attack is too weak to kill the player if the quest is started at full health. The player cannot lose health before starting this quest and cannot quit during it to rack up damage. Once this quest is completed, it cannot be replayed. This text can be seen by editing a save file.

Unused Tree Spirit Behavior

The tree spirits found in the forest have code to generate and use up internal "ammunition" for their magic spines. This code is complete except for a check to stop a spirit from firing a spine when it has no ammunition, rendering the entire code pointless.

Tree spirits have and start with a maximum ammunition of 5, and will regenerate 1 ammunition every 20 ticks.
