Cannon Fodder is known for several things, like being a strategy game with a controversial touch of black comedy, that VERY catchy opening song, and the game itself being among the most praised Amiga games.

Developer Message

VIRGPRES.RAW, used during the opening, has some naughty scribbles that can be revealed by modifying color 31.

Unused Graphics

The game's graphics can be found as RNC compressed ILBM files on its disks (they're non standard disks but the contents can be ripped by using WHDLoad).

The file startup.lbm contains the sprite sheet for an early version of the game's hill menu. Of note are:

• Totally different gravestones (including a gold one)
• Different recruit graphics including one that seems to be smoking a cigarette
• Graphics for recruits to walk left and right, and face forward, suggesting they would have different behaviour than simply waiting in line facing left as in the final game
• Graphics for the recruiter to exit through the door as well as enter through it as in the final game
• Graphics for the recruiter to seemingly take an object (a bribe?) and conceal it on their person
• Graphics for the recruiter to headbutt a recruit through the door!
• An unused font
