Catrap is a puzzling platformer originally released in Japan as Pitman on the Sharp MZ-700, having its BASIC listing in a 1985 issue of Oh!MZ Publications as a type-in program. The popularity of that version led to the game being made for the Game Boy.

Before the title screen appears, hold Down + Left + A + B + Select. If done correctly, a sound test option will appear in the pause menu.

Level Skip

During gameplay, hold Start, press Select, then release both buttons. After unpausing, the level will be automatically completed.

Aside from the logo change, the Ask Kodansha credit was replaced with the Asmik logo and "Licensed by Nintendo".

Round 60

Compared to the Japanese version, the US version of this round has fewer enemies and stairs, and the play area is slightly smaller.

End Credits

The message at the end of the credits scroll is different between regions. The Japanese version says "Presented by Ask Kodansha", while the US version has a screen with the Asmik copyright and "Licensed by Nintendo" text from the title screen along with the Ask Kodansha copyright seen on the Japanese title screen.
