This article is a work in progress.
...Well, all the articles here are, in a way. But this one moreso, and the article may contain incomplete information and editor's notes.

Colony Wars is the first game in the space combat/opera simulator series from Psygnosis for PlayStation. It received excellent reviews upon its release in 1997 and featured an innovative mission structure (for the time) that reacted to the player's successes or failures with multiple mission paths and endings.

Two sequels to Colony Wars were released: Colony Wars: Vengeance (1998) and Colony Wars: Red Sun (2000).

Cut Special Abilities

Hmmm...
To do:
Rip/transcribe database audio. Check if anything remains of the code for the abilities.

Each ship was originally supposed to have a special ability in addition to its primary and secondary armament. This feature must have been cut late in the game as the in-game database audio has entries describing these abilities. The official Prima Guide also mentions them.

Database Weapons Descriptions

Hmmm...
To do:
Rip/transcribe database audio.

Database audio descriptions for each of the primary and secondary weapons exist in DATABASE.RSC. However, there's no way to listen to them in-game.
