Regional Differences

For the most part, the Japanese and European versions are the same, albeit separate versions since Konami did not use region detection yet at this time. However, there still are some differences.

Splash Screen

The Japanese version's splash screen is black, while the European version's splash screen is blue.

...But what does it mean?

Notes: Check translation for the Japanese labels.

The Japanese version was released as part of Konami's short-lived "I Love..." educational series, in this case as 「I love 社会」 ("I Love Society"). The three baking machines in the game's stages are labeled in kanji as an educational tool to illustrate the baking process.

第一発酵 First fermentation
第二発酵 Second fermentation

The European version removes the Japanese writing and leaves those areas blank instead.
