Conker: Live & Reloaded is a remake of Conker's Bad Fur Day, boasting a wide variety of upgrades from graphics, sound, and gameplay, to its main selling point: an overhauled FPS sub-mode in the form of online multiplayer.

Although it had many advancements, it was often regarded as the inferior version in the Conker fan community due to removing the original multiplayer and - more notably - adding censorship to previously-untouched profanity (often causing a noticeable dissonance in cutscenes, especially with the Great Mighty Poo segment) on top of retaining whatever censorship the original had made (such as the conversations between the pitchfork, paint can, and paintbrush in the Barn Boys chapter).

After a small hiccup, it was the first Conker game to be released in Japan.

Hmmm...
To do:
  • A debug build was released a couple of years back on Obscure Gamers as of this edit. Document the debug menu and (if any) content differences.
  • There's also a late prototype dated March 14, 2005 with minor differences and bugs.
  • Put all the known stuff from the Static_strings since there's a lot of unused stuff.
  • Get subpages for Bad Fur Day and Live & Uncut leftovers (there's a lot of the latter).
  • Gather pre-release media including render oddities like Sky Jockeys carrying duel magnums and the infamous Live & Uncut.

Soak Test

Press Left Trigger + Right Trigger + Black when on the main menu. In this soak test, the game will load every map from the main game, one after another. The game will then play all the chapters in order. Once the soak test is complete, the game will reboot. Pressing Back during the test will toggle some debug info at the top-left of the screen.

default.xbe

References to unused stuff from Bad Fur Day, as well as models from Live & Uncut. The two last bits are interesting since it mentions the cut class engineer, the grenade type is unknown but he would have an aircraft called the "Dropship bay" which might suggest he either was replaced with the sky jockey (since they both have arc wielders and the sky jockey specializes in aircraft) or was changed into the sky jockey.

Unused Weapon Modes

The static_strings reveals a lot of scripts for unused weapon modes.

DP500

According to XML_MP_WMODE_DOUBLE_PISTOLS_MODE_PISTOL_WHIP, DP500 was meant to have a melee attack.

Widowmaker

According to XML_MP_WMODE_SNIPER_RIFLE_MODE_SILENCED, Widowmaker was supposed to have a mode where the sounds are silenced.

Fauster

Seems to be another attempt on the Sinurator due to the presence of XML_MP_WMODE_FAUSTER_MODE_NAPALM and theres two cut modes ML_MP_WMODE_FAUSTER_MODE_GAS' and icons\\MP_fauster_smoke the former may suggest it could be the new name for the acid mode or a different scrapped mode since there are gas grenades in-game.

Sinurator

Going by the early name, chemical thrower name it has one scrapped mode 'XML_MP_WMODE_CHEMICAL_THROWER_MODE_FIREBALL which it is sorta functional replacing the modes with fireball seems to make the weapon fire upwards suggesting it would be a morter-like weapon mode

Hogster

This weapon has a lot of unused firing modes; the final game has three modes, but three more were planned. According to XML_MP_DAMAGE_GRENADE_LAUNCHER_MODE_GAS, XML_MP_DAMAGE_GRENADE_LAUNCHER_MODE_MAGNOVA, MP_smoke_grenade_launcher, and XML_MP_WMODE_GRENADE_LAUNCHER_MODE_NAPALM, it seems you would have swapped between different types of grenades.

Tankus

There was supposed to be a weapon mode for the tanks where they basically shoot missiles, according to XML_MP_WMODE_TANK_MISSILES.

Mule

The ship was supposed to have different ways of attacking which uses rockets or mini-guns as the stead, according to XML_MP_WMODE_DROPSHIP_ROCKETS and XML_MP_WMODE_DROPSHIP_MINI_GUN.

Scrapped Bounty Hunter Mode

According to these strings, FT_Menu_Bounty_Hunting, MPBountyHunterSniperRifle and XML_MP_CLASSES_BOUNTY_HUNTER. It's a big mystery how it would have played, some say you can place a bounty on players while others think it's a scrapped game mode where it's like Hunted from TFC which was their main inspiration for making the multiplayer section. His weapon is also unknown but it could be a more powerful version of the widowmaker. Player model, it was once believed that the model was removed due to the game crashes until Vitalflea somehow made it work which was found in the debug build and actually replaced a model with this bounty hunter, and... it's a knock-off of Boba Fett. Enough jokes, its appearance of having an ascot, gloves, and the same boots as the SHC may suggest it is part of the SHC team or once part.

(Source: [1], [2])

Scrapped Multiplayer Weapons

Also, the strings reveal some unused weapons some may be a part of the unused engineer class while some might have been a part of the classes early in development.

Plague Gun

'XML_MP_WEAPON_PLAGUE_GUN According to this it would have spread a plague which might be a part of the Poisoner class which got changed into the thermophile, the weapon has two modes XML_MP_WMODE_PLAGUEGUN_MODE_STANDARD which might suggest it may have shoot something maybe a syringe and XML_MP_WMODE_PLAGUEGUN_MODE_JAB which obviously might be a melee attack also from the possible syringe.

AK-47

This weapon is seen in MP_AK47 though which class was supposed to be used by besides possibly being a weapon might be used by the unused engineer class theirs probably one hint, a render of the tedi demolisher is where he seems to hold an ak47, before having it been updated to carry the bazooka either due to being a marketing or it was was back in development he had an ak47 instead of a bazooka. This weapon was seen multiple times in Live & Uncut, suggesting it may be a leftover from that planned game.

(Source: [3])

bike_gunner

A leftover back when the R-hog was supposed to have a machine gun, can be seen in the R-hog render an early e3 footage.

(Source: [4])

Shotgun

This is one of the more interesting weapons, not only due to it having a model confirmed by Chris Seavor though it seems to be from the future war, so there could exist a WWII model or could be an upgraded weapon maybe for the scrapped engineer class but it seems to have four fire modes their standard obviously the normal fire mode XML_MP_WMODE_SHOTGUN_MODE_BUTT_WHIP which it's melee attack just like the scrapped DP500 pistol whip mode, XML_MP_WMODE_SHOTGUN_MODE_TRIPPLE_BLAST which might have shot three times and the most interestingly XML_MP_WMODE_SHOTGUN_MODE_NAIL_BLAST which could be like the Dum-dum rounds for the Sturm-52 or the Depleted uranium rounds for the Widowmaker.

(Source: [5])

Detonade And Triggered Grenade

These two unused grenades could be related to each other, the trigger grenade might have worked by throwing the grenade and then could be detonated by using the Detonade seen in 'XML_MP_WEAPON_DETONADE.

Saw Rifle

The most mysterious weapon in-game due to the fact it is not known and nor has hints like the shotgun though there could the most likely and interesting possibility from the render theirs a weapon on the bottom left which looks like some heavy rifle with a chainsaw attachment which, could make sense due to the name having the word "saw" on it and by the looks of it it would have fired rounds and its alt-fire is using the chainsaw attachment. Though it's unknown who could have used it either as an upgrade for the Demolisher making it an early version of the stray fur or an upgrade for the unused engineer class

(Source: [6])

Sticky Grenade

Seen as 'GrenadeSticky which could be well a sticky grenade that sticks, Nuff said.

sfx_speech_multi.xwb

An SHC voice that went unused, since he uses Arc Weld could have been an early voice for Demolisher due to having a brute intelligence speech, and also interestingly it mentions stun grenades and Magnova grenades which might have indicated the Demolisher might have different grenades in development.

Leftover N64 Dialogue

This is all the leftover dialogue from the original game, including a few from the ECTS demo, interestingly enough.

The entire dialogue for the cut Pikachu scene was left intact...

...as well as the original ending for the cutscene where Birdy gives Conker the manual.

Rodent's original slowmo yell.

An SHC squirrel wishing to be released.

The robot voice from the final battle mentioning that the player can block with the Z button, which is absent on an Xbox controller.

What remains of the N64 multiplayer modes, audio-wise, is this lone line from the General for the Beach mode.

Dialogue from an unused cutscene, involving one of the second Context Sensitive button in the Hungover chapter.

Alternate dialogue for the Barrel's expensive price. It interestingly differs from the original $2,000 that the barrel wants in the ECTS demo.

An unused duplicate of the "Buff you" line. "Asshole" is censored in the used version.

The only leftover uncensored dialogue within the files

This is another unused and uncensored duplicate line, this one being when the mean cog shrugs off the acknowledgement of Conker giving him the three lady cogs. This was likely a remnant from the game's development as "Live & Uncut", as this line is censored in the original game as well.

sfx_speech_engX.xwb

Conker swears when pushing the TNT imp in the "It's War" chapter, but in-game (both here and the N64 original) the clip is cut off after he says "Get you going...".

References a removed/uncompleted feature of playable King Bee, Berri, Birdy, Gregg, Rodent, and other characters from the story in the multiplayer mode![2][3] It also has a lot of leftovers from Bad Fur Day, which mentions scrapped stuff for the multiplayer, a scrapped game mode called "FT_DM_Haunted", Which might take place in the spooky chapter due to the name, "FT_greens" Another scrapped map, A unknown mode that would have involved weasels fighting tediz.

Multi folders

Every multiplayer level except for Doon (referred to as mpPopsicle) has a name.

startPointNames

A folder not present in retail, it's just strings for the multiplayer map Towers.

Oddities

Beach Dead

During the introduction cutscene to Beach Dead, it shows an early Tankus model driving around, having a different front hull, the turret having no white stripes around the cannon's end, and a different shape. When the landers land their controls, during in-game, or if the Tediz win, they disappear, suggesting it might be an early version of the model.

Three Towers

During the introduction cutscene, the Mule 52 has a green color scheme, which might suggest it was supposed to be green instead of silver in-game.

Game File's Names

The Long Ranger's files are either called "sniper" or "sharpshooter", while the Thermophile's files are interestingly called "poisoner", which suggests that he might have used chemical weapons originally.

SHC Demolisher's Early Voice

Hmmm...
To do:
See if other lines were accidentally used.

Sometimes, when using the Arc Wield, the SHC Demolisher will sometimes say his early takes (which might be voiced by Chris Seavor), before having Chris Sutherland voice his lines, even though the lines were kept most likely due to forgetting to re-record some of the lines.

"I have this thing fixed in just a jiffy."
