One of the lesser-known versions of Contra developed for home computers, this version for IBM PC and compatibles (courtesy of the oddly-named Banana Development) was actually published in the US alongside the Commodore 64 version by Konami themselves.

Unfortunately, it's not a particularly good conversion due to its faulty controls.

Undocumented Command Arguments

At the command prompt, enter one of the following arguments to see the following effects:

Command Line Argument Effect
FX (US), NX (Europe) Skips the intro and turns on invincibility mode.
FLF (US), NL (Europe) Enables debug keys:
* Press F5 to dump the video memory to SCREEN.PIC.
* Press F10 to quit.
* Press + to go to the next level.
X Slow speed (US only)
S US: Super slow speed
Europe: Toggles sound off. It can be re-enabled by pressing F2.
L0# Replace "#" with a number between 1 and 9 to go to that level.

Unseen Quit Text

While this is used when quitting the game, it's rendered as black text on a black background, making it impossible to see without hacking.
