Cooly Skunk is a platformer originally developed for the Super Famicom before ultimately being canned in favor of a PlayStation version (known as Punky Skunk in the US). Before its cancellation, a demo of the Super Famicom version was broadcast via the Satellaview service which allowed players to go through the first three levels.

A memory pack containing the demo was found and released online in late 2019.

Unused Levels

Notably, the demo actually contains the entire rest of the game, including the ending, allowing us to see what Ukiyotei had in store for SNES players and what all was changed for Punky Skunk.

Hmmm...
To do:
can we see it?

Unused Password Screen

CoolySkunk-Password.png

During gameplay, the player can obtain passwords through an option on the map screen, but there's nowhere to actually use them. A password input screen is present in the ROM as level ID 32, and functions perfectly if accessed.

This patch adds a Password option to the title screen. Pro Action Replay code 7E1F0120 will also take you to this screen, though be sure to disable it afterward.

The passwords are:

Unseen Graphics

The pointer for the Game Over screen is placed on a layer underneath the white box, so you can't see it (though you can hear it).
