Hmmm...
To do:
Clarify the cheat mode effects and what the debug parameter does. The potential instructions for it are at E69FB and may only be seen with a secondary monochrome monitor.

Cheat Mode

During gameplay, enter JASSICA16 to enable the cheat mode. The following cheats will be at your disposal:

Key(s) Action
~ Toggle cheats.
Ctrl + F10 Toggle invincibility.
F10 Get all weapons and items, plus recharge the energy.
Ctrl + C Show current location.
Ctrl + Q CD transfer display toggle.
Ctrl + V Display internal stats (version number, memory stats, etc.)
F7 Show a grid over the level.
Alt + F7 Show another grid type over the level.
Ctrl + F7 Show yet another grid type over the level.
F See object framework.
H Toggle the Hack Mover; Move objects around by
holding Shift to click and drag a desired object.

Level Select

When booting up the game at the command prompt, enter -warp (number) to go to any mission in the game. Be sure to replace (number) with any integer from 1 to 15. The player can also change the difficulty with -skill and may also access the weapons room with -egg 250.

Debug Command

A command parameter named -debug is recognized by the program, but it appears to be disabled in the final game. It likely once enabled a debug kernel on a secondary monitor, but this appears to be disabled.

Programmer Credits

In crusader.exe, there are a couple of internal credits from system programmer Tony Zurovec.

E4C34:

< Kernel Ver. 2.00 - July 8, 1995 - Tony Zurovec >

E52A7:

CRUSADER MMU V1.1 - Sep. 4, 1995 - Tony Zurovec

Regional Differences

Unsurprisingly, the German version was quite censored. Among other changes:

  • Blood was removed.
  • Some of the more graphic death animations were softened.
  • Players cannot set corpses on fire.
