Hmmm...
To do:

Devil May Cry 2 is the sequel to the original Devil May Cry. Taking place after a unknown amount of years after the events of the original game, Dante goes on a mission to take down Arius, an international businessman who wants to conquer the world by releasing Argosax, a demon who used to rule most of the demon world, but was stopped by Sparda. There's also Lucia, an another playable character that helps out Dante during his adventure, while having her own story.

The game is rather infamous as the gameplay can be easily cheesed with Dante's guns(Making the usage of swords mostly useless) and that the story is much more serious and darker when compared entries in the series, as shown with Dante being more serious and mature than his usual silly jokester "pizza man" self. However despite this, the game is praised for it's excellent gothic environmental design, great soundtrack, and has one of Dante's best outfits in the series. Which due to this, the game has slowly formed a cult following years after the game's release.

"King? Yeah, here's your crown."

Unused Graphics

Early UI and Menu Graphics

Nearly every single graphic for the main menu and UI has some sort of early variant or placeholder, possibly showing that they were replaced late into development or the staff behind this title didn't bother to scrub these graphics out once they were replaced.

Early Final
DMC2EarlyRedOrb.png DMC2NewRedOrb.png

The series traditional red orb originally didn't have the weird face.

Early Final
DMC2EarlyMissionSelect.png DMC2NewMissionSelect.png

In the final game there's no text telling you what to decide. Also "start" is misspelled as "strat".

Early Final
DMC2OldMissionStart.png DMC2Newmissionstart.png

The text was originally red before being changed to white. The red orb also had a different design.

Early Final
DMC2EarlyRank.png DMC2NewRank.png

"Hunter" is misspelled as "Hanter".

Early Final
DMC2EarlyItem.png DMC2NewItem.png

"Holy Wall" and "Impure Soul" was changed to "Smell of Fear" and "Evil Heart" in the final game. Sacrilege was also added.

Early Final
DMC2EarlyBlue.png DMC2NewBlue.png

The magic symbol is less darker now.

Early Final
DMC2EarlyPurple.png DMC2NewPurple.png

The purple magic used by enemies is brighter and has a lone eye in it.

Early Final
DMC2Oldweapons.png DMC2Newweapons.png

All the weapons icons were outright changed in the final game.

Early Final
DMC2EarlyShowtime.png DMC2NewShowtime.png

The text you would get for keeping up a combo got rather...simplified.

Early Final
DMC2EarlyDanteicon.png DMC2NewDanteIcon.png

The graphic for selecting Dante in missions was originally very crusty before getting replaced with a much better one.

Early Final
DMC2OldItemText.png NewItemText.png

For some bizarre reason, the text for items was simplified.

Early Final
DMC2EarlyDanteMoves.png DMC2DanteMoves.png

"Trigger" was misspelled as "Trriger".

Early Final
DMC2Old enemy.png
DMC2New enemy.png

Several enemies are moved around for the in-game enemy files. Geri the Wolf was originally supposed to get his own enemy file, but that was scrapped for the final game.

Early Final
DMC2EarlyDanteSword.png DMC2NewDanteSword.png

Placeholder graphics for Dante's swords.

Early Final
DMC2EarlyLuciaweapons.png DMC2NewLuciaWepaons.png

Same as above, but for Lucia "shooting" arsneal.

Placeholder graphics for the equip menu, which has several bars of colors instead of Dante's guns.

The graphics for the in-game log went through multiple revisions before settling on a simple red background.

Dummy

A rather simple dummy texture.

Scrapped Motorcycle Mission Leftovers

DMC2MotorcycleMission.png

DMC2MotorcycleIcon.png

Remnants of the scrapped motorcycle mission where you would have rode down a long highway while shooting at demons. From how it's placed in the files, it would have been originally chapter five for Dante.

Controller Type B

DMC2PlaceholderController.png

A placeholder graphic for type B controller settings.

TGS Leftovers

DMC2TGSMessage.png DMC2Tgsthankyou.png

Graphics the player would have saw when playing the demo at Tokyo Game Show.

Unused Music

Hmmm...
To do:
There's a high possibility that this track belongs to a different Capcom title released before 2003. Perhaps from Power Stone or Mega Man Legends?

In "Z_DATA_BIN", there's a unused happy short track named "Jiro.adx". Given how Devil May Cry 2 soundtrack is entirely dark ambient and rock, this is rather out of place.
