Sound Test

Donkey Kong Country 2 GBA Sound Test.png

A sound test can be accessed by entering ONETIME as a cheat.

Unused Music

By using the sound test, you can listen to the "Run, Rambi! Run!" theme, which is never used in the GBA remake. The finale of Rambi Rumble, which uses this music in the SNES version, plays "Bad Bird Rag" here instead.

To restore this music in Rambi Rumble, go to the ROM offset 83BE8 (European version), 842DC (Japanese version), or 83200 (American version), and change this byte from 1E to 1C.

Unused Levels

Hmmm...
To do:
European/Japanese codes

To access these levels, use the following code in the USA version: 03000050 000000??. Replace ?? with one of the below values, then choose any stage in Diddy's Dash.

SPRITE GRID

DKC2GBA-spritegrid.png

Value: 00

An area where you just fall endlessly as Rambi. It was most likely a sprite viewer at some point.

INVALID

Value: 93

Doesn't load.

NOT USED

Value: B0

Doesn't load.

Regional Differences

As per the norm, the Nintendo logo in the opening titles is red in the US and European versions and blue in the Japanese version.

Title Screen

America Europe Japan
DKCountry2GBA-(US)-Title.png Ooohhh, Treasure! DKCountry2GBA-(JP)-Title.png

The title screen is completely different in each version, the American version is based on Donkey Kong Country 2's original SNES US/EU box art, while the European version is based on Donkey Kong Land 2's box art. The Japanese version has its own new title screen.

Diddy's Dash Icons

The level icons in Diddy's Dash are animated in the North American and European versions and static in the Japanese version.
