This NES Earthworm Jim 2 (not to be confused with the other unlicensed Earthworm Jim 2 NES port) only features a portion of the levels from the original, but it does have at least one of the cheats from the original game.

Map View Mode

Elementary, my dear Cactus.
This needs some investigation.
Discuss ideas and findings on the talk page.
Specifically: Are the other cheat codes from the original game present?

Map view mode, as seen in the original game, can be activated here by pausing the game and pressing B+A, Up, Left, Down, Right, A, A, B. If entered correctly, Jim will disappear and the player can freely move the camera around the level. To teleport Jim to the current location, press Start, and map view mode will be disabled. Note that this may not work on all revisions of the game, as the code appears to be stubbed out in some standalone versions; if you are having difficulty using the cheat, try a different revision.

Interestingly, using this cheat in any of the Puppy Love stages will instead play a sound effect and skip to the next level once all puppies/bombs have disappeared from the screen.

Revisional Differences

A later revision, usually seen on multicarts (although standalone cartridges exist as well), adds a sound effect after pressing Start on the title screen, which is not present in the original release.
