An enhanced port of the Dreamcast original, with loads of extra goodies like more weapons, more cheats, an extra level, and a full voice cast.

Hmmm...
To do:
  • There are test levels, debug menu(s) and unused items, they can be accessed as shown online, but how? The Fur Fighters wiki might be a good place to start.
    • This site has loads of info on unused content, debug menus, etc.
    • Make a page for the Dreamcast version too.

Test Levels

Hmmm...
To do:
Explain how to access.

There are three test levels left in the game. Two of them are accessible using a code but the third one, labelled TEST_L3.LP2, is not in the correct folder and thus cannot be loaded through the same code.

Dreamcast Leftover

A small leftover from the Dreamcast version, text relating to the VMU.

There is no VM inserted into Port A Slot 1. Fur Fighters requires a VM with %d blocks free to
save game progress. Insert a VM with enough free blocks or press the $ button to continue with
saving disabled.

Developer Comments

A few notes and comments from the team at Bizarre Creations. Mentioned are Mark Craig (Design, Enemy Behavior, Game System and Code) and Simon Pickard (Level Designer and Animator):

Ask Mark to increase the amount of NPCs - he won't mind doing it

Loading UltraBasic Code - no longer implemented

Water Too Slow, FIX IT!
WATER %ldk, I suppose you think thats funny

Too many pickups in level (Matt probably did it)

Mark, why is this here, ReturnToHubFunc() game.no_players = 2, it crashes things. line %d in %s
pmenu.cpp

STM_StopAudio called with voice index of -1. Please don't do that.

Sorry Simon, skeleton has too many vertices

SETTINGS.TXT

Elementary, my dear Cactus.
This needs some investigation.
Discuss ideas and findings on the talk page.
Specifically: Is it functional?

A text file called SETTINGS.TXT is present on the disc and contains a pretty extensive collection of things to modify, from weapon damage to enemy behavior. It also dates back to 1998 and calls the game by its working title, "Furballs".
