So very stubbly.
This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion.

Golden Axe III is the final game in the series for the Mega Drive. It features a premise suspiciously similar to the otherwise unrelated arcade sequel The Revenge of Death Adder, as an aged Gilius Thunderhead gathers four warriors to recover the stolen Golden Axe from an evil warlord known as Damned Hellstrike. Despite the game being written entirely in English, Sega decided to keep Golden Axe III strictly in Japan and Asia. However, it was briefly available in the US on the Sega Channel and in later years it would get several western releases through its inclusion in compilations such as Sega Genesis Collection and Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection, as well as in digital download services.

Unused Playable Characters

Ga3 gryphonbossplayable.png
Using the code FFC8D4:0001 will fix your playable character as Eve (the gryphon boss from the middle of the game). The character seems nearly complete, with a full moveset and HUD graphic; however, his magic isn't set (he uses a glitchy version of Kain Grinder's), and the pointer to his graphics is incorrect, resulting in a garbled sprite.

You can use FFC8D4:00?? with values past 04 to play as various other enemy characters in various glitchy states, but mostly with their moves intact. 05, which is the spear guy enemy, even has a unique lightning magic move which may have been intended for Eve.
