Also known as: Pasha Pasha: Minigame Festival (KR), Gotcha Gotcha (US marquee) This game has unused graphics. |
I can't believe it's not Bishi Bashi!
Regional/Revisional Differences
Three known versions of the game exist in the MAME database: ppchamp, which is the original Korean release, ppchampa, a different version of the Korean release, and gotcha, which is the American release. The differences between them are as follows:
- The speech line in the Korean release's intro is absent from the American version.

---|---|
- In addition to the name change, the American release also uses a brighter background for its title screen.

- ppchampa does not have the minigame selection menu at all; when entering a credit and pressing Start, the player jumps immediately to the "Get Ready" screen seen when starting Normal mode.
- The English version adds narration voice clips, which are heard when entering a menu or during the description parts of each minigame.
- In both Korean versions, there are voice clips for the titles of each minigame that are played. In the American release, these clips are replaced by ding sounds, which are also heard when inputting a correct answer in certain minigames.
- The minigame Jungle Escape was originally Rambo-themed, having the title Wigiilbal Lambo talchul (Crisis Rambo Escape), and the overlay seen when a player is not active even featured Stallone himself; the changes done to the American version, which included changing the soldier to a gorilla and making the explosion sprites more cartoony, were likely done due to copyright concerns. The palettes shown below are of the first player. Do note that the winning text's palette is also taken from the player's in the American version; in the Korean version, it has an unique one.

- The minigame Untouchable Bodyguard uses gun-wielding gangsters as the enemy characters in the Korean releases, while the American version replaces them with axe-wilelding skeletons.

- There is a single minigame missing from the American version; Kkangchongkkangchong Gyedan oleugi (Hopping Stair-climbing), which involves all three players battling in rock-paper-scissors matches; the winner(s) of each match proceed(s) to climb the stairs in the background, and whoever reaches the top first wins. Curiously, this minigame does have an English title in the data: "Step by Step".
- The Korean release has a DIP switch setting labeled "Explane Type" in the game's operator menu; turning it on changes the minigame descriptions to very simplified (and sometimes non-explanatory) renditions in English. While this DIP switch can also be found in the American version, enabling it has no effect in the gameplay.
