Gran Turismo 5/Revisional Differences

This article is a work in progress.
...Well, all the articles here are, in a way. But this one moreso, and the article may contain incomplete information and editor's notes.

This is a sub-page of Gran Turismo 5.

Many could argue that once Gran Turismo 5 finally released, the game was still quite unfinished; the release-to-manufacturing version of the game (also known as the base version, Version 1.00) was compiled on October 25th, 2010 with the game itself releasing to the public a whole month later. Some say that the development of this particular game invented the "release now, finish later" development model that almost all games of the modern day employ today. In any case, many changes were made to the game with each update that it received; some are purely cosmetic, some added in functionality that was missing at release, and others changed elements of the gameplay.

Note that only the undocumented changes that occurred between versions are covered here. Each version has its own sub-page to prevent this page from getting too long and breaking your touchscreen/mouse wheel/Page Down key.

Hmmm...
To do:
  • Finish each of the version's sub-pages.
  • Document the differences in all of the updated database tables (this could take months to complete!)
  • Reorganize each of the version's sub-pages' Course sections into a table for better presentation.

Changed Car Sounds

Hmmm...
To do:
Find out which specific version changed each particular sound and move it to its appropriate version's sub-page.

The various cars in the game pull their engine sounds from a number of sound banks that are found in the carsound directory in the game data; each sound bank has a five digit number as the filename. Over time, the developers changed what sound bank that some of the cars use for their sounds via the game databases.

Below is a table of cars that had their sounds changed in updated versions of the game:
