Cactus 2.0!
This article has just been started and needs the article basics added.
Help us out and add them.

A somewhat-obscure yet controversial political game released during the First Intifada.

Unused Graphics

Intifada INTTI1.png
INTTI1.WIN, found in the Hebrew version, is an unused version of the title screen with the logo in English. The English release does not have a proper title screen.

Intifada INTAR.png
INTAR.WIN, also in the Hebrew version, is an early version of the army screen. The version used in the Hebrew version, INTA.WIN, is displayed both in the game over screen and in the report after the end of a patrol.

Elementary, my dear Cactus.
This needs some investigation.
Discuss ideas and findings on the talk page.
Specifically: Not sure if it's unused, because this article claims that Kahane's face fills the screen; this suggests the glyph is Kahane's face and/or that there is a third version of the game (as neither the English nor the Hebrew versions seem to use this face).

Intifada INTTH 0x07.png
Found in THICK.CHR and INTTH.CHR in the English and Hebrew versions respectively, the glyph at codepoint 0x07 is a man's face.

Version Differences

Hmmm...
To do:
Thete's more.
  • In the English version, the tour of duty is always printed as 1 (it is printed correctly in the Hebrew version).
  • Tear gas disperses faster in the English version.
  • There are two stages in the Hebrew version, while there is only one stage in the English version.

Imprisonment

In the Hebrew version, if your public opinion index is low when Yossi Sarid is the defense minister, you will be imprisoned and the game ends (the reason for your imprisonment depends on your performance). This doesn't happen in the English version.

Screen Message Translation
Intifada Imprisonment 1.png

זה היה הקש ששבר את גב הגמל. בשובך לבסיסך נעצרת מייד והועמדת למשפט צבאי בעוון אי מילוי הוראות. נידונת לשנת מאסר בכלא 4.

That was the straw that broke the camel's back. Upon returning to your base you were promptly arrested and put on court-martial for insubordination. You were sentenced to one year in Prison 4.

Intifada Imprisonment 2.png

This is the last nail in your coffin!. The state is in crisis. The Communists have staged a coup and rose to power. They have tried you for committing war crimes against civillians and sentenced you to life imprisonment with no option to appeal to the High Court of Justice.
