Kirby's Return to Dream Land/Unused Models
This is a sub-page of Kirby's Return to Dream Land.
This article is a work in progress. ...Well, all the articles here are, in a way. But this one moreso, and the article may contain incomplete information and editor's notes. |

Backgrounds
gcksnowmt
Interestingly, there are beach textures in the files for this background, which appear to be different to the textures found in the background used for Stage 1 of Onion Ocean (gckbeach). This background is also a leftover stage model from the cancelled Kirby for Nintendo GameCube, with the only difference seemingly being the lighting.
Tilesets
room
Inside the files for the game, there are 2 unused tilesets named "room" and "room2" . This tileset, named "room" was most likely used as a base for other tilesets as several tilesets have some textures and parts from said tileset in their files and likely also for testing purposes as well.
The footage below not only shows off the "room" tileset, but it also shows the "empty" background that gets used in-game, but is completely obscured.
room2
This tileset is almost identitcal to "room", with the only difference being that room2 has more textures found in it and has a slightly different looking MLand from room. Just like "room", this tileset also most likely was used as the bases for other tilesets and for testing.
empty
And not only there is a background in this game that's literally empty, there's a tileset that's also empty as well.
Projectiles
IceBlizzard
The Ice Sphere Doomer appears to have an unused projectile in its effect files named IceBlizzard. There are also 3 animations for it, 2 of which, named Start and End which both don't seem to do anything and also both have 6 frames. The third one, named Main on the other hand does do something.
Bubble
Traitor Magolor also has an unused projectile in his effect files named Bubble. There are 3 animations for it, all of which are deflating and inflating but at different sizes.
Other
DoorCover
In the gimmick files for the step files, there appears to be an unused door cover named DoorCover, which also has 2 animations in it, named Main and TopL. It is unknown what it would've been used for. Main shows DoorCover shine, while TopL shows many frames of nothing but DoorCover having alternate lighting!
Hidden Kirby Model
There is a hidden Kirby model which strangely enough, is found in the Mike ability's motion files. The textures are exactly the same as P1 (Pink) Kirby's, but there are certain eye and mouth textures missing in said model's files. The textures also don't display properly.
The textures absent in this model, but present in the player models:
