This article is a work in progress. ...Well, all the articles here are, in a way. But this one moreso, and the article may contain incomplete information and editor's notes. |
Kurohyou 2: Ryu ga Gotoku Ashura-hen is the 2nd title of the Yakuza series on the PSP. Following the same format as the previous game but featuring Sotenbori, Osaka in addition to Kamurocho and various other new features, Tatsuya once again undergoes various misadventures ending in a fight atop the Millennium Tower.

Unused Models
Kurohyou 2 again splits models into 3 categories: very low-quality models used in the overworld, models used in combat and high-quality 3D models with more detail used in the Cabaret Club minigame.
Kurohyou 1 bosses
Every single Kurohyou boss model remains leftover in this game (TOMOKI and Hayato Makabe do not count, however, since they make relevant story appearances). The unused Shun Akiyama model is leftover as well.
Combat
Unused Weapons
The unused weapons from Kurohyou are left over here as well.
Deathblows
Every single deathblow from Kurohyou remains in the files of Kurohyou 2, mainly because most of them are repurposed as normal combo moves. However, it is possible to re-enable them as deathblows through modding. While most of them will work as intended, Jump High Kick and Bajiquan Breakthrough will not (it is unknown why).
Unplayable Styles
Many styles are unplayable through normal means in Kurohyou 2, most of them being boss movesets. Among these unplayable styles are 3 styles from the first Kurohyou.
Note: trying to load the boss movesets through a cheat (TOMOKI, Okita, Meteor, Oba, Tanaka, Kaz, Shinahara, Kinjo, Akita, Saeki, Ryo) will crash the game; this is because of their Heat files which are completely differently structured to a playable style's Heat file.
Ancient Japanese MA
An altered version of Koryu Lvl. 2 from Kurohyou.
- It has the fully upgraded low kick combo instead of the 2-hit one Koryu Lvl. 2 is limited to.
- Its Blue Heat Action is incorrect, instead being taken from Military Martial Arts.
- Its attributes are: Beastly Blazing Power +2, Toughness -20% and Max Strength -20%.
Normally used by members of the Peach gang and the Kamuro Security Force.
Karate Lvl. 5
An altered verison of Karate Lvl. 1 from Kurohyou.
- Its back kick and running punch are the same as Makoto Yashiro's.
- Its Red Heat Action is incorrect, instead being taken from the DLC style Brawler・Tenma.
- Its attributes are: Guard Breaker +2, Enhanced Heavy Attack and Auto-step -2.
Used by former Diablos gang leader Shota Akagi, and members of the Peach gang and the Kamuro Security Force.
Kickboxing (Shinobu Okita)
Strangely for a boss, Okita does not use a unique moveset; he outright uses Muay Thai Lvl. 3 from Kurohyou.
- It has Hyuga 1/Pankration/Extreme Fortitude's stance instead of the normal Muay Thai stance.
- Its taunt is unique to him.
- Its Heat Action is Extreme God Leg's Red Heat Action instead of either Muay Thai Heat Action.
- Its attributes are: Injury Reduction +2, Endurance +3 and Tenacious Force of Will.
Only used by Okita.
Unused and Cut Moves
A variety of moves from Kurohyou were cut in this entry for unknown reasons. For a move to qualify as "cut", it must not be present in the game's .app file at all (this will result in it having no filename even if it is in a style's file); this is not the case with the majority of moves that are used in Kurohyou fighting styles but go unused in 2, because they still exist in the .app file.
There are also a few original moves that were cut.
Unused Music
While the majority of the soundtrack is not officially released, 3 songs that don't play anywhere in the game were found in the files. None of their names or composers are known. (Random Collection has given them his own names, however: Foreign Affairs, Over Heaven and Under Hell)
