A remake of the eponymous game with many things different: improved graphics, no MSX references, and so on. It was initially released as WiiWare in 2011 with some chunks cut into DLC as a workaround for the 40MB size limit, which caused the English Wii version to be significantly delayed and without the additional content.

Eventually, though, the complete version was ported to PC with unpacked resource files to boot.

Unused Tileset

hit_parts.png shows a small set of colorful tiles not used in the game. The file name suggests that these were used during development to show collision for maps.

Unused Enemy Graphics

eveg17.png contains enemy graphics from the original La-Mulana that are used in the Gate of Time bonus area. The original surface birds are included in this file, but aren't used.

Version Differences

Please elaborate. Having more detail is always a good thing. Specifically: The pots that weren't moved away and the exact way of performing the glitch.

Through v1.3	v1.4.0.0 Onward

Originally, you could go through walls with the help of the pots right next to them. Most of those pots were moved away from the walls in v1.4.0.0, preventing players from performing the bug. v1.5.0.0 fixed the root cause of the bug.

Regional Differences

This needs some investigation. Discuss ideas and findings on the talk page. Specifically: Apparently the Spanish version includes bits of the original Japanese text not in the English translation and additional profanity. Add this once verified.

Perhaps as a more stylistic approach, the Life Jewel (生命の宝珠 Seimei no Houju, lit. Jewel Treasure of Lifeforce) item is translated as "Sacred Orb" in the English version, even though nothing about the original name suggests sacred. It's also only an orb in shape and specific meaning.
