Madden NFL 19 is a yearly installment in the Madden NFL series, once again, only focused on updating rosters for the 2018 NFL Season, having a rap-only soundtrack, continuing the Longshot storyline with a sequel, and introducing Training currency as well as a full-fledged power up System to Madden Ultimate Team.

This also marked the return of the Madden NFL series to the Windows platform, after 11 years of not seeing a new installment on Windows.

Revisional Differences

Kareem Hunt removal

On November 30, 2018, the Kansas City Chiefs released running back Kareem Hunt after a videotape of him physically assaulting a woman and kicking her on the ground surfaced. He was removed from the game in the Week 12 Roster Update.

Due to this, his Madden Ultimate Team cards were changed to be named HB #25, as well as permanently removing his said items from card packs.

Big Bank Censorship

The song Big Bank by YG ft. 2 Chainz, Big Sean, Nicki Minaj had it's audio updated to uncensor a line referencing quarterback Colin Kaepernick. This update took effect on August 7, 2018, through a day one patch, which was released along with the Hall of Fame edition.

Temporary Songs

Some updates during the 2018 NFL Season added several songs to the EA Trax (all rap like the main soundtrack). These songs were removed in the following update.

Revised Card Arts

The Team Diamonds for the Cleveland Browns and Los Angeles Rams, were ex-Miami Dolphins castoffs Jarvis Landry and Ndamukong Suh, who originally had an art that had them pictured with Miami Dolphins uniforms, due to having then-recently joined the said teams from Miami. however, after some time when the regular season began, their card art for their Team Diamonds card (including its powered-up variant) was updated to have them appear in their 2018 team's uniforms.

However, even if the player were to power up the aforementioned players and equip the Miami Dolphins (or Detroit Lions for Ndamukong Suh) team chemistry on their cards, the new art would be used regardless of the team chemistry equipped.
