Hmmm...
To do:
  • Check to see if the map editor (as seen in prerelease material) is still in the game, or at least remnants of it.
  • Lots of old code before rework.
  • There's a lot of unused content and test content, well, Unused and early models, test maps and lot of unused codes.

Originally named Madness: Project Nexus 2, Madness: Project Nexus is the third, and easily biggest, video game adaptation of the Madness Combat flash animated series. Despite the first game being made in Flash like the cartoons, this game is made in the Unity engine.

Unused Fonts

Several fonts can be found in the files that are never used in-game

  • Blade 2 - A font based on the logo for the movie Blade 2. Possibly removed due to licensing concerns.
  • Broad
  • Harvest - Replaced by the Impact font due to poor spacing.
  • Incredibles - A font based on the logo for the movie The Incredibles. Like Blade 2, it may have been removed to prevent any licensing issues.
  • One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest
  • Planet of the Apes - Another font based on the logo of a movie, that being Planet of the Apes.
  • Robotic Monkey - Replaced by the Blackwolf font.
  • Sin City - Yet another font based on a movie, this time for Sin City.
  • The Ring - Yet again, another movie-based font. This time it's The Ring.

Unused Behaviors

There are several 'behaviors' found in the game files that are never used by any character or enemy in the final game.

  • Generous - Characters with this ability would've shared ammo with allies.
  • Networked - Characters with this behavior will alert the entire squad to the enemy regardless of position or line of sight.

Early Characters

Toady

An early version of Toady, found in the Arena mode. The stripes and the undershirt are grey compared to the final version. This version was used in the Day 1 Demo.

Buttonman

An early version of Buttonman, also seen in Arena mode. Compared to the final version, he lacks glasses and his colors are slightly different. Like Toady, this design was used in the Day 1 Demo.

Anti-Piracy

There is a memory leak. It can be disabled by putting non-steam game files into "common" folder from Steam folder. As of v1.05a, Another anti-piracy measure was developed and cannot be disabled. This is speculated to be false. Which means another anti-piracy measure don't exist or related to memory leak.
