Midnight Club: Los Angeles is the 4th and final Midnight Club game, featuring a map of Los Angeles, California that is as big as the maps of the previous game combined.

Unused Cars

Sound files have mentioned names for certain Honda and Acura vehicles, also Ferrari 360 Modena, Porsche and Ford F-150 were mentioned., However, Rockstar could not obtain the license to use a majority of the mentioned cars, or those were engine sounds that could be used for other vehicles.

2008 Nissan GT-R (R35)

The 2008 Nissan GT-R (R35)'s unused showroom image.

The 2008 Nissan GT-R (R35)'s mesh, showroom image and body could be found in the game's files. However, the car was not included in the main game nor on any South Central DLC packs, likely due to time constraints. Had the car appeared in game, the car would be an A-Class Group 4 Tuner car whose performance could be at par with or higher than the extremely overpowered, low-cost Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14 and Ducati 1098R sport bikes, or any of the all-wheel drive exotics Audi R8 4.2 FSI quattro, Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder or Lamborghini Murciélago Roadster.

It also has four bodykits and a wide body kit, presuming it would have been the only Group 4 vehicle to have such, as other Group 4 vehicles have only two body parts per part type.

It would have had a similar price tag to most Group 4 cars, likely between $90,000-$120,000.

Opponent-Only Parts

Two non-Volk RAYS Engineering rims can only be seen on two NPC presets, and are not obtainable by the player. The RAYS G-Games 99B can be seen on the 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX MR-edition (CT9A) that is used in the delivery missions, while the Rays Gram Lights 57D can be seen on Julian's 1975 Datsun 280Z (S30) and Ian's 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX (D33A).

Unused Songs

Certain game files/beta builds feature various songs playing in the background, such as the non-remixed version of Akwid's No Hay Manera and MGMT's Electric Feel. It is likely speculated these songs could be featured before being replaced by the remixed counterparts. Also, Linkin Park's What I've Done was seen in a pre-release demo for the game, but did not appear in the final release.

No Longer Available Content

Due to the Social Club Test Drive servers being shut down in June 2014, certain content can no longer be obtained by certain players who have not done the Rockstar Games Social Club tasks yet. The player can still play online on the Xbox 360/Xbox One versions, however.

TIS Modular Rims

Five TIS Modular rims, namely, M301, M302, M303, M304 and M305 can be unlocked by completing 8 of the 12 tasks in the Test Drive feature of Rockstar Games Social Club. These rims can be seen on certain cars, such as the Saleen S302 Extreme featured on the game’s cover art, as well as some renders of the Chevrolet Camaro Concept and Lamborghini Murciélago Roadster’s DUB Editions (which use regular TIS rims when obtained as stock)

2008 Audi R8 4.2 FSI quattro (Type 42)

The 2008 Audi R8 4.2 FSI quattro (Type 42) is a reward for completing the Test Drive feature of the Rockstar Games Social Club by completing all 12 objectives. It has a purchase price of $118,000, if purchased prior to purchasing the garage for $1,000,000. Due to the shutdown of the Social Club features, the R8 can no longer be unlocked.

The R8 is primarily used by the South Central garage owner Doc, who drives the stock R8 (pictured below), and Oro, who drives a modified Audi R8 4.2 FSI quattro.

Revisional Differences

The March 2009 Update added South Central content, such as a free map expansion and paid downloadable content.

A patch in March or April 2009 buffed the Audi R8 4.2 FSI quattro's performance when maxed out after the South Central Premium Upgrade was released, likely due to how overpowered the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14 was at launch, and the R8's restrictive availability.

A patch in 2018 for the Xbox One (via Xbox 360 backwards compatibility) removed certain songs from the soundtrack, likely due to their 10-year license having expired.
