This cactus is UNDER CONSTRUCTION
This article is a work in progress.
...Well, all the articles here are, in a way. But this one moreso, and the article may contain incomplete information and editor's notes.
See, this is why game preservation is important.
This game is defunct.
Do note the game no longer works at all without modifications. This is most likely due to the game's servers being shut down. As a result, further official developments with the game are unlikely to happen.

Minecraft Earth is an AR spinoff of Minecraft, bringing the world of Minecraft to the real world! Unfortunately, it happened to come out just before the COVID-19 pandemic and that lasted throughout the game's service, eventually resulting in the game being shut down not even two years after release. Ouch.

But hey, at least we have a remnant of it in newer versions of Minecraft with the Glow Squid being a mob, voted for in a previous Minecon.

...Ouch.

Hmmm...
To do:
  • The game wasn't planned to shut down so quickly, so there's a lot more unused graphics and such. A full list of unused graphics can be found here.
  • Document differences from the 2019 Apple Worldwide Developers Conference gameplay reveal. Most of them can also be found on the wiki page above.

Removed Test Resource Pack

A resource pack named genoa_test is present with almost no contents, except pretty much the contents file, which at least allows the skeleton of the pack to be recovered.

Unused Models

Mobs

Pink Moobloom

Is this where strawberry milk comes from?

An earlier version of the Moolip mob. As far as differences go, the Pink Moobloom is a darker shade of pink, and has tulips instead of daisies.

Unused Textures

Items

"Mom, where do baby wooly cows come from?"

An unused spawn egg for the Wooly Cow mob.

STAND PROUD

An armor stand. These appear in the original versions of Minecraft, but not in this game.

Yep. That's bamboo alright.

Some bamboo.

Blaze it.

Some blaze powder.

That wasn't an offer, that was a command.

A blaze rod.

A couple of boats.

STAND PR- Wait, we already did that joke.

A brewing stand.

Buckets of fun, if your idea of fun is holding a bucket of cod.

A bucket of cod.

Handle with care.

A bucket of pufferfish.

Ooh, is that a carrot?

A carrot on a stick.

A set of chainmail armor.

The best chest. Fight me.

A chest inside a minecart.

Careful, they might make your stomach all warped.

A chorus fruit.

Pop!

A popped chorus fruit.

How else did you think we found all this unused content?

A compass.

A set of diamond armor.

You need a mint.

A bottle of dragon breath.

Welp.

Some dried kelp.

More like goodbye-tra.

An elytra.

"Where's that DAMN fo- oh, there it is."

An emerald.

Blocks

Unfortunately, there wasn't a beacon of hope for this game.

A beacon.

This article has reached rock bottom.

A block of bedrock.

Nothing much to say here.

A brown mushroom block.

Again, what do you want me to say?

A mushroom stem block.

Nope. No plates here!

A chest.

Another (nether) brick in the wall.

A Nether brick wall.

All in all, it was all just (red nether) bricks in the wall.

A red nether brick wall.

This game was more about building than crafting, anyway. (Wait, aren't those synonyms?)

A crafting table.

Banners in all different sorts of colors.

POOT DISPENSER HERE

A dispenser.

This wasn't the only thing Mojang dropped.

A dropper.

Villagers would've killed to have this.

An emerald block.

Ore you glad we managed to find this?

An emerald ore.
