Need for Speed Heat is a mixture of a Miami-inspired setting and car culture with a progression system similar to the Underground and Most Wanted-era games. The complete absence of microtransactions or randomized cards resulted in a game that is surprisingly decent in comparison to the last entry.

Unfortunately, the success of this game would lead Ghost Games to be dissolved in early 2020, with Criterion Games assigned to the series' next entry - only for them to be sent working on a future Battlefield game after Battlefield 2042 instead..., as well as the COVID-19 pandemic having contributed to the reason why the later Black Market DLC cars having never been released.

To do: Clean up, add offsets/nearby hex values/exact strings. Unused clothes. Preload build. Check if there are unused presets in files of the game Early 2020 build. (no, not the Black Market Update build, that is even before Black Market Update) that has cut stuff that didn't made in heat and some did made and some did not in the successor of this game, Need for Speed Unbound. Also look through game files of the build incase if there are cut K. S. bodykits that made into NFS Unbound)

Payback Data Leftovers

Data for previous NFS games are still present in the files, as are unlock textures for the cars, a few cars from Payback, and two derelict cars (Chevrolet Bel Air and VW Beetle).

Motorcycles

Data for four motorcycles, Honda CBR1000RR 2017 (bike_honda_cbr1000rr_2017), Triumph Bonneville T120 2016 (bike_triumph_bonnevillet120_2016), Honda CB1100EX 2018 (bike_honda_cb1100ex_2018) and BMW S1000RR 2019 (bike_bmw_s1000rr_2019) can be found on the game data, with one of the motorcycles also having working model. Ghost Games later confirmed there are no plans to make the motorcycles playable.

1932 Ford Model 18

The hotrods that were introduced in Need for Speed 2015 are no longer in Need for Speed Heat after its latest appearance in Payback, the only thing that remained is the car model of the 1932 Ford Model 18 and all of its customization parts.

Nissan 370Z "Red Bull Edition" (Z34) '19

Car ID:13298314

Sponsor car. It was made for consoles only and can unlocked by reaching level 7. Icon and unlock dealership icon for this car exists. As of August 21, 2020 the car has been released for a limited time through the Red Bull website in promotion of the Red Bull Car Park Drift series. Although it can be unlocked in PC version with modifications.

Generic Speedshape

A model made for demonstrating material types in the paint menu with a basic car-like shape for its body. It appears to be using the rims from a 2017 Nissan GT-R (R35).

These cars are only used for missions, but car and unlock dealership icons for these exist. It seems like these cars were originally unlocked by completing case missions (ID_VEHICLE_UNLOCK_CRITERIA_SPECIALCASE), but the string data doesn't exist.

Scrapped Black Market Cars

Two cars, namely the Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 SV Roadster (Similar to K.S edition) and Bugatti Chiron Sport, were planned to be Black Market cars, however, the development had stopped, likely due to the dissolution of Ghost Games and the COVID-19 pandemic, which made it harder to work on additional content due to having to do a work-from-home setup.

A recent datamining in 2023 confirmed further cars that were supposed to be Black Market cars, although some the of cars didn't exist in game, being featured instead in the following title. They were cancelled likely due to the pandemic restrictions and the dissolution of the developers, further confirming the following cars were supposed to be also Black Market cars.

It is likely assumed that the unique cars (RX-8, Silvia S14, Chiron) would have been the paid cars, while the convertible cars would have been free cars.
