This article is a work in progress.
...Well, all the articles here are, in a way. But this one moreso, and the article may contain incomplete information and editor's notes.

Pathologic is a first-person survival adventure about a plague spreading through a mysterious town over 12 days. Originally released in Russia, its hastily-translated European releases made its mysteries even harder to penetrate.

A 1.1 patch was released for the Russian release in late 2005 and the European releases were patched by default. However, the GOG release does not include the patch.

Unused Items

There are a few items in the game data that have no use and cannot be obtained without console commands.

Item ID Name Texture Type Description Notes
ognemet_ammo Ui flamethrower ammo b.png Ammo A five-liter canister of flamethrower fuel. Item is not named in-game. Can be looted but associated weapon is not in final release and has no other purpose.
gun_ammo Light Ammo Ui klara ammo b.png Ammo 41 caliber rimfire round. Used in the pocket pistol. Intended for the Double Barrelled Pistol, but the derringer uses Revolver Ammo instead.
simon_blood Prosectorium Blood Ui blood simon b.png Quest Item The blood that Stakh Rubin had been working on for the past four days. It has an unnaturally vivid crimson colour and seems to glow with some inner light. Could such blood really flow inside a human body?
uni_key Warehouse Key Ui key b.png Other Items Unlikely to be usable for all warehouses. Most probably it will only open the warehouse where its unfortunate previous owner used to work. Some dialog still alludes to this item in the final release.

Regional Differences

Hmmm...
To do:
Add details for Name Alterations.

Some Git

There is an NPC model found only in the 2006 English release known as Some Git (Karlik in the files). He is a short and ugly fellow. He replaces the character Lika (spelled "Lickah" in this version) and all other instances of the Doghead model where it's possible for the player to kill them. It's believed, but unconfirmed, that he was added to avoid controversy involving an adult character killing young teenagers. The English release was only published in the United Kingdom where "git" is a mild insult with severity somewhere between idiot and asshole.[7] His identity in the files, Karlik/Карлик, is Russian for "dwarf". He appears in the files for all other international releases but is unused; the files are completely absent in Pathologic Classic HD.

Name Alterations

The 2006 English release has different names for many locations and characters. Most of these are technically correct but inaccurate translations of their Russian counterparts.
