This page details prerelease information and/or media for Advanced Dungeons & Dragons: Eye of the Beholder III - Assault on Myth Drannor (DOS).

Careful, you'll lose an eye.
This page or section needs more images.
There's a whole lotta words here, but not enough pictures. Please fix this.

Back Cover

The back of the game's packaging has some screenshots from the game, some of which have differences from the final game.

  • There is a Greater Feyr at the entrance to Myth Drannor. In the final game, they only appear in the thicket maze in the forest (as a sort of boss battle) and cannot actually move outside the maze.
  • The Earth Elemental is surrounded by grey walls (presumably taken from the Mages' Guild). In the final game, the walls are blue.
  • Tabitha and Bugenius are seen in the player's party in much earlier parts of the game than they appear: Bugenius is in the Warriors' Tomb, but doesn't appear until the Mages' Guild. Tabitha is in the forest (the aforementioned screenshot with the Greater Feyr), but doesn't appear until the last dungeon of the game, the Temple of Lathander. It's also possible their portraits were selectable originally, as they are available portraits in Dungeon Hack.

Scrapped Item

The second, third, and fourth images include a checkered shield, which is nowhere to be found in the game. This might be a holding shield item for the early test phases of the game.

(On a side note, the second shot also shows a dead character who seems to be attacking, which isn't possible with the existing game mechanics.)

Scrapped Spell

On the fourth image there is a menu showing the first level mage spells. One of the spells is called "Sleep", which is a Level 1 mage spell in AD&D but does not appear in any of the Eye of the Beholder games.
