Neighborhood Multiplayer Map

A multiplayer map set in an American neighborhood was developed at one point but ultimately cut. Parts of the map were reused for the starting part of the Wolverines campaign level from the start of the level up to a segment of the alleyway with graffiti.

E3 Prerelease Footage

This video was originally uploaded to YouTube on June 4, 2009. There are a bunch of differences between this and the final game:

  • Captain MacTavish has a different accent and sounds very much like Captain Price.
  • The tracks that were used in the E3 demo are background tracks from the original Modern Warfare.
  • Major Petrov's accent is different.
  • Major Petrov's megaphone effect for their voice is also different.

The HUD is significantly different and it actually closely resembles the HUD from the original Modern Warfare.

The "ACS Module" you have to get to progress differs. Rather than grabbing the ACS Module and proceeding, you would have had to download a few files.

Multiplayer Prerelease Footage

Several videos have been released regarding the multiplayer for this game.

Multiplayer Trailer

This video was originally uploaded to YouTube on July 27, 2009 and it demonstrated the AC-130. There aren't many differences between this and the final game, but it does have a slightly different position for the timer. Instead of it being above the Faction icon, it is to the right of the game's scores.

Flag Runner

This video was originally uploaded to YouTube on August 28, 2009 and it demonstrated the Capture the Flag gamemode. There aren't many differences between this and the final game, but the announcer does references the Predator Missile at 1:11 as an “AGM”, as seen in some campaign missions.

Press Conference Footage

This video was originally uploaded to YouTube on September 16, 2009.

The following are differences between this and the final game.

There are a few missing killstreaks. Below is a list of the missing ones.

  • Harrier Strike
  • Emergency Airdrop
  • Stealth Bomber
  • Chopper Gunner
  • EMP
  • Tactical Nuke

Although hardly noticeable, instead of saying a locked item's name, it used to say "Classified".

This string is actually still in the game's files, but it is unused.
