Find unused concepts in interviews. Document items from these videos.

Club Penguin is a beloved MMO game that contains a lot of unreleased music and strange ideas.

Music

Most news about unreleased music was shared by Chris Hendricks (Screenhog), one of the game's composers and artists. He started a "Club Penguin Music Behind the Scenes" series in 2018 on his YouTube channel.

  • "Sled Racing Jazz" is a remix of the Sled Racing theme. It was made on October 26, 2009.
  • An early version of "Cave of Creeps and Clarinets" was rejected for being too happy and not feeling like a Halloween song.
  • The Box Dimension went through multiple revisions. Screenhog's sixth attempt was the one that made it into the game.
    • The first song was made with a tabla and a dobro.
    • The second song uses world instruments.
    • The third song utilizes the "Shepard Tone" to make the song sound like it "goes down forever."
    • The fourth song was never recorded, as Screenhog was too disappointed in how it was going.
    • The fifth song was used as the Stair Dimension's theme for the April Fools' Party in 2011.
  • Pufflescape had a menu theme. In the game as-is, the menu is silent.
  • This track was made for the Elite Penguin Force.
  • "Nimbus" was intended for the Festival of Flight.
  • Puffle Launch has multiple early songs.
    • "Puffle Howitzer," the original main theme. It wasn't used because it didn't fit with the theme of Puffle Launch.
    • "Puffle Bullet" was another attempt that was more well-received.
    • "Boss Bullet" was the boss theme, based on Puffle Bullet. However, they received feedback that Boss Bullet and Puffle Bullet felt too "secret agenty," and after all the EPF stuff, they needed to do something else. A new soundtrack for Puffle Launch was then composed with electric guitars.
    • "Puffle Coaster 1" is the first song.
    • "Puffle Coaster 2" is similar to the first, but uses more pitch bend.
    • Even the mobile launch trailer went through a change. Here it is with the original music, which was "too cute," so it was changed to an electric guitar soundtrack.
  • "Jungle Snake" was meant for the Island Adventure Parties.

Concepts

Hmmm...
To do:
Document the rest of it.
  • Screenhog's "My Club Penguin Sketchbook" video shows off various concepts that never made it into the finished game.
    • Ice Fishing was intended to have various lures, such as an O' Berry lure, and different types of fish beyond the yellow and gray ones.
    • Various Brown Puffle concepts include its animations. It uses a shovel to launch a cookie into its mouth, digs a hole and sleeps on the dirt, digs a hole and jumps into it, and turns its head into a drill.
    • The fireman outfit's special dance originally involved using a watering can. This idea was later used for a gardening hat item given out on Earth Day.
    • A penguin version of the Mona Lisa was released as a painting furniture item. There were ideas for other parodies of popular art pieces, like "Pengcasso" and "Persistence of Penguins," neither of which ended up being added.
    • There was going to be a tribute to King Kong that never happened.
    • Early designs for the Penguin Lawn Gnome furniture item are shown, including a side view of the finished design despite the item not being rotatable.
    • An Aqua Grabber level was going to feature pollution caused by a squid with allergies that sneezes ink.
    • A mechanic for Card-Jitsu involved super special power cards: an inferno for fire, an iceberg for snow, and a tidal wave for water. Each could only be defeated by their opposing element, and the player would instantly win the match if they succeeded with playing the card.
