This page details prerelease information and/or media for Detana!! TwinBee (Sharp X68000).

Store Demo

Right before releasing Detana!! TwinBee on Sharp X68000, Konami distributed an over-the-counter demo to retailers which demonstrates a few differences compared to the final version.

According to the music files contained in the demo, the store demo only allows the player to play the first stage and boss before ending the game and resetting.

Music

The store demo contains some additional music not seen in the final game, along with different versions of tracks found in the main game. However, in contrast with the final game (and later on Gradius II for X68000), Konami did not make different versions of the songs for Roland MT-32 and SC-55 (General MIDI), so only base OPM versions exist for these songs.

The songs are first presented as how they are played in the demo (3 in total), then individually without sound effects.

Shop Demo 3

There are two versions of the voiceover used on the arrangement of "Twinbee's Home Town Song" used as the third Shop Demo BGM, with the backing music staying the same. One voiceover was made specifically for pre-release while the other voiceover was made for when the game finally went on sale at retail.

The song is called by "Twinbee Arrangement (Shop Demo 3)" on Konami Shooting Collection (Disc 5).
