General Differences

Settings Menu

Add an image comparison of the settings menu from the first version of the game

"Input Repeat Delay" is called "Input Repeat Rate", although the slider still works the same.

"Force Default Colours" is called "Force Default Palette".

There is no option to disable zooming.

There is no sound when enabling or disabling options.

Music And Sounds

An early version of the main menu theme, which uses less reverb on its bass instrument.


An early version of the underwater theme, which has some shorter notes than the final version.


  • The sound for restarting a level is higher pitched than the final game.
  • The map music starts immediately after winning a level, rather than fading in.
  • There are no unique sounds for interactions between hot/melt and open/shut objects, instead they use the same sounds as defeat objects.
  • Sink objects use a shorter sound, resembling a laser beam more than a splash noise.

  • Subworld level tiles don't become visible until they've been unlocked.
  • The icon for Solitary Island has no outline and is dark green instead of purple.
  • Solitary Island doesn't exist in the prototype, and its level icon cannot be entered.
  • The main collectibles are smaller version of blossoms rather than spores.
  • When visiting the map for the first time, there is an instruction on how to move the cursor, but not on how to enter a level.
