Proto:Baldi's Basics Plus/Kickstarter Exclusive Demo

Baldi's Basics Kickstarter Exclusive Demo is a backer-only demo for Baldi's Basics Plus by Basically, Games!. It is only available to backers who donated $30 or above to the game's Kickstarter.

Gameplay

Unlike the early demo, this demo includes three randomly-generated levels along with a new random event (mystery room), three structures, and a brand new field trip (Farm). It also introduced a new character (Chalkles), Cloudy Copter returned, three new items were added (Dirty Chalk Eraser, Principal Whistle, and Faculty Nametag) along with all previously existing items, one new mode (Free Run Mode) and a new special location (Library) upon its first release.

The second update was released on March 14, 2020. The update added two new characters (Beans and Mrs. Pomp) and some more structures (Baldi's Math Machines, number balloons, and the water fountains).

There was also another new field trip planned, but its implementation was delayed three times, and ultimately, it was cancelled due to running out of time. The new field trip was then planned to be added in Baldi's Basics Plus.

Anti-Piracy

Anti-Piracy Measure 1

Titled "BadSum," this anti-piracy screen prevents the non-backers or backers who only donated less than $30 from playing the game regularly. This can also be accessible to backers who donated $30 or more if they copy and paste the Kickstarter exclusive demo folder and play the game in the copied file. Upon starting, the Basically, Games! team's logo first shows up normally. But instead of the main menu, the screen shows a dark image of a character resembling Baldi but in a blue shirt, with a lack of hair string, a frightened face, and large pupils. The background shows a room similar to Baldi's Office, while some eerie music is heard playing. The text reads the following:

"Something isn't adding up!

Please restart the program. If this error continues, this may be an unauthorized copy of the game.

Please check refer to the manual for more information."

This is similar to the anti-piracy method Donkey Kong Country 2 and 3 (as well as Killer Instinct) used, and it may be a reference, as developer mystman12 is a Donkey Kong fan.

Anti-Piracy Measure 2

Another pirated version of the game, which was cracked poorly, is somewhat playable. However, the first level is impossible to beat due to a number of known effects that are triggered when Baldi begins pursuing the player.

• If the player goes to the normal Main Mode or Free Run Mode without switching the files in the main menu, the school scene and the warning slides scene will intersect with each other. After the last slide in the school scene, the main menu scene will intersect with the school scene and the warning slides scene, softlocking the game, resulting in a forced restart.

• When the player collects two or half of the notebooks, Baldi will suddenly go insanely fast and there is no way to escape from him. The player can actually bug out Baldi's speed by collecting two notebooks before Baldi chases after them. The game will allow them to play normally until they collect two more notebooks, at which point Baldi will go supremely fast again. It is impossible to complete the game as a result of this trick, unless playing in Free Run Mode, using hacks, and/or using a mod menu.

• Instead of one Principal of the Thing spawning, two will spawn.

• Gotta Sweep's AI is adjusted to have no cooldown between sweeping times.

• The game will crash often randomly. Eventually, the game crashing will happen so often that the game will basically crash on startup, making it impossible to play.

This measure, although incredibly rare to find, was recorded and uploaded to youtube.
