From The Cutting Room Floor
Jump to navigation Jump to search

This page details one or more prototype versions of Cyber Troopers Virtual-On MARZ.

A demo version distributed in Japan and dated February 28, 2003, about two months before the final build. If you turn off the trial version flag, you will be able to play until the ending.

Playable Content

In this demo version, you can play Dramatic Mode 1-1 to 1-5 on Normal difficulty level with Temujin 707S.

General Differences

  • The text of one of the title demos, the operating instructions, is different.
  • There is no effect when there is not enough energy to use a weapon.
  • The performance of some Virtualoids is different or incomplete.
  • One of the BGM used in the 1st Area Orbital Tube is "Kirisute Go-men!"
  • Light processing seems to be different.
  • The BGM for the final stage is "Crystal doom '03" because it has not been prepared yet.
  • Two of the random missions, the trailer missions, are not working properly.
  • EP5-3 displays dialogue that was unused in the final version
  • EP6 and EP7 were originally called EP5EX and EP6
  • Originally, up to 8 mission files were planned to be created, but due to the lack of space on the screen, the number was reduced to 6.

Stage

  • Shutters in almost all stages are open and can be passed through.
  • Some stages are different:

Virtuaroid

  • The order of colors in the virtualoid selection is different.
  • The performance description of the virtualoid selection is different.
  • There are virtualoids with different name designations in the virtualoid selection.
  • When loading Virtualoid in VR COLLECTION, graphics that are not in Final are displayed.
  • Some Virtuaroid have glitches in their attacks.
  • Some Virtualoids do not have SEs for some of the attacks, so a different SE is played.

TEMJIN 747E TEMJIN 747E TEMJIN 707J SF is internally named TEME and you can see the letters TEMJIN747E when loaded in the title demo

Originally TEME was TEMJIN747E, then as development progressed it became TEMJIN747A, then TEMJIN707J SF.
In this demo, the name is TEMJIN747A, the 3D model is TEMJIN707J SF, and the title demo is TEMJIN747E.

There exists a virtualoid called T81 which is a 10/80 adv copy and paste and none of the files exist
Supposedly, T81 was supposed to be a 10/80 Magnum, but due to lack of development time, it was never created.

MAIN MENU

When debug mode is turned on, three modes can be selected: OMAKE, iLink VS, and WATCH
VONMARZ T dbug mainmenu.png

OMAKE

Selecting OMAKE will proceed to a screen where you can choose between two modes: "4INT VS" and "Smash Bro. VS"
Both can play 4-player games, but the difference between the two is unknown.
VONMARZ T dbug omake.png

iLink VS

When selected, the game will soft-lock.

WATCH

Almost 100% soft lock. Even if the load succeeds, it does not work correctly,
In the few instances where we have successfully loaded, it seems that up to 8 vs. 8 can be played against each other.
However, the 8vs8 process could not keep up and the game soft-locked before it started.
It seems to be able to load successfully and play up to about 6vs6.
