Leaked on January 8, 2023, CB1.3 represents a transitional point in Genshin Impact's development from CBT1 to CBT2. Unlike the Closed Beta Tests, this version was never meant for public eyes and features a treasure trove of test and unused content, rivaling CBT1 in sheer quantity.

How to Play

For just running the game in offline mode through the Selection Interface (upper left corner of the login screen), CBT2's server emulator can be used to bypass the "access failure" error message and send the "DebugMenu" response for enabling the GM Menu. Naturally, entities and events do not get set up this way, but it is useful for checking out test characters and exploring scenes.

Running Server

This guide assumes prior knowledge of running and configuring the leaked servers. Documentation for this can be found elsewhere and won't be discussed here. Additionally, the pathfinding server resources for improving enemy/NPC AI are missing, so enemies will not perform certain attacks.

  • Base it off of cb2plus_live configs. Don't need cb2plus_live data, just the XMLs.
  • Get the Bins and Data for the server:
    • hk4e_cb2test_live
    • cb2test_n-output_316414-server-data.tgz
  • Reconfigure the Server XMLs:
    • gateserver.xml: Remove this line: <AntiCheatFile path="log/gateserver.anti.log" level="ANTI_CHEAT" />
    • dbgate.xml: Change this line to the following: <RegionConf name="dev_docker" dev_sdk_account="true" max_register="" />
  • Database configuration:
    • In the hk4e_db_config database, add a column to the t_gacha_schedule_config table for "item_weight_config." It can be of any data type and just needs to exist to prevent an error that will cause the gameserver and multiserver to crash.
    • Insert into hk4e_db_deploy_config database:

  • Enabling test characters while on server:
    • Edit the file \server\data\txt\AvatarData.txt and set all 0s in the 是否使用 column (column "AF" if viewing in Excel) to 2.
  • Account
    • In-game, register an account. If using Genshin_CB1.3.0_a61ca9b661 or another later revision, you can log in using the account you registered.
      • If running 20191209-153316_cb2_test-301009_cb2test_live-300412_CB2_OverSea_OVSWIN_Test_DevBuild_Debug_Less_Full_ASB-CB2OS, don't log into the account you registered through the normal login window. Instead open the Selection Interfaces (upper left corner), and put 0 into UserID and TargetUserID.
      • This will provision a new account and automatically assign a new UserID afterward. Use the new UserID from now on for your account.
    • New accounts start similar to CBT1, with the simpler intro, though the background is broken. Probably was in the middle of being replaced.

Optional steps

To remove FPS display & beta watermark:

  • GM > Hierarchy > PluginRoot > Uncheck Is Active
  • GM > Hierarchy > BetaWatermarkCanvas(Clone) > Uncheck Is Active

General Differences

  • Load times are abnormally worse than other versions, even on an SSD. Sometimes when loading into the open world, the ground will take a few seconds to fully load in.
  • Plunge attacks are only possible with Xiao, like in CBT2.

Map

The map of Teyvat now resembles its current appearance, though it's clearly unfinished on the Liyue side. Some parts are actually inaccurate to the in-game world.

  • The map is also colored differently in many places. Some out-of-bounds chunks also haven't been filled in yet.
  • One of the out-of-bounds chunks next to the upper-left corner appears to be a crude screenshot, though if you actually head to this area in CB1.3, it bears no resemblance to the land.
  • The arena where you can fight Andrius in Wolvendom is not represented yet, even though it does exist in CB1.3.
  • Dragonspine extends towards Liyue more and is missing the surrounding land around the southeast side.

Childe Icon

The monster icon for Childe was originally from the second phase in his boss fight, though upon release, it was changed to his final form instead.

A later revision of the unused BigWorld_WhiteBoxMap from CBT1, with this version's Mondstadt and an unfinished Liyue overlaid on top.

Unused Models

Animals

A model of a buffalo is within the game's assets, but is not used anywhere. It was removed in CBT2, so it is unknown if it will ever make an official appearance. There are three materials that can be applied to it.
