Hmmm...
To do:
Literally everything, to be honest.
So very stubbly.
This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion.
Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article?
SOMETIMES I SEE A TEXT BOX AND I JUST CAN'T HELP MYSSDFGFFDHFGDJGGFSHGDFH
This page sucks.
If you could make it suck less, that would be awesome.
Specifically: Plagiarized article. Violates site rules. Was already deleted once.

A Demo Version of Sonic Forces was released as a Japanese Nintendo eShop exclusive on October 25, 2017. The game's language is in Japanese regardless of the console's language setting.

General Gameplay

The demo has three stages with all three playable characters: Modern Sonic has Lost Valley, Classic Sonic has Egg Dragoon/Egg Wrecker, and Avatar has Spaceport, which has the Burst, Lightning, or Cube Wispons with no upgrades.

Each stage has a time limit, which counts down from the HUD. After time expires, the game fades into a "thank you for playing" message (which exists unused in the final game as well as in Sonic Frontiers), followed by the game's trailer.

Probably the most infamous aspect of the demo is that the stages' time limit is a remarkably strict 60 seconds, making it rather difficult (if not impossible) to actually complete any of them.

Unused actstgmission.lua

An unused actstgmission file with some very interesting differences. It seems to match up with the unused script. There are some alternate location/stage names (some of which are just codenames), which are:

  • "Prison Satellite" instead of "Death Egg"
  • "Space Port - Marine Base" instead of "Chemical Plant - Network Terminal"
  • "Space Port - Space Port" instead of "Chemical Plant - Spaceport"
  • "Urban Area 01" for "Sunset Heights"
  • "Urban Area 02" for "Park Avenue", and likewise with the rest of the City stages.

Oddly, the original name for "Mystic Jungle - Aqua Road" is "Casino - Casino Torrent Down". "Mystic Jungle - Luminous Forest" would be "Casino - Jungle", and "Eggman Empire Fortress" would have been called "Eggman Imperial Fortress". Lastly, none of Classic Sonic's stages have any stage-specific names (like Ghost Town, for example).
