Hmmm...
To do:
  • Check multiplayer starting points.
  • See if the credits match the Windows version.

Debug Features

  • A debug display is on screen at all times, this includes FPS, time the game has been running, memory, version and build date. An additional "Object Cam" infobox is displayed during race introductions.
SouthParkRallyDC May17 DebugDisplay.png
  • Four debug options are available on the main menu. All Cheats unlocks everything and the Intro Anim and Final Anim options play the intro and ending cinematics.
SouthParkRallyDC May17 DebugMain.png
  • Soak Test starts a self playing game with more debug info displayed; number of games run, track, event and time the game has been running in Soak Test.
SouthParkRallyDC May17 Soak.png
  • An extra "Off Screen Mask" option can be found in the options, which renders a yellow border over the game.
SouthParkRallyDC May17 Mask.png
  • The pause menu has a "Cheat Win" option that does exactly what it says, though it is somewhat prone to crashing the game. It is currently unknown what "Line Mode" is or if it works, as selecting it seems to just un-pause the game.
SouthParkRallyDC May17 DebugPause.png
  • A free camera mode can be activated during gameplay, demo mode or the Soak Test by pressing Right or Left (only after the race has started) on the D-pad. Pressing Left again returns the camera to normal. The analog stick is used to angle the camera while the face buttons are used to move in any given direction.

General Differences

  • No VMU notifications on startup.
  • Saving doesn't seem to be implemented yet, though the game does prompt you to save.
  • The audio file for the theme song has a slight bit of silence at the start, which causes the music to be out of sync with the intro animation.
  • It is possible to start a multiplayer game without a second player.
  • The Mini Championship Mode is missing the turbo pickups.
  • The default best times in Mini Championship Mode are all identical placeholders.
  • The color for player 1 is blue instead of red (i.e. the arrow representing the player on the minimap).
  • It is possible to pause the game in the middle of the pre-race countdown, while in the final game one has to wait for the word "GO" to completely fade off the screen.
  • The audio has a chance of glitching out the longer the game has been played, with error messages popping up when the game starts having trouble playing sounds.
SouthParkRallyDC May17 Error.png
  • It is possible to pick Gridiron as the track for Rally Days #1 in multiplayer, but this causes the game to crash as soon as the race starts. In the final game, Gridiron is only available in "Ass Battle".
SouthParkRallyDC May17 GridironRally.png
  • In Multiplayer, the HUD shows who has the lead.
Prototype Final
SouthParkRallyDC May17 MultiHUD.png SouthParkRallyDC Final MultiHUD.png
  • The the race timer in Mini Championship Mode was changed from blue to an easier to read orange. The item boxes on the HUD were also removed since Mini Championship features no items.
Prototype Final
SouthParkRallyDC May17 MiniChampTimer.png SouthParkRallyDC Final MiniChampTimer.png
  • In the prototype, the Mini Championship Mode ends at Stage 7 (Mountains) instead of Stage 8 (Volcano)

Prototype Final

  • The remaining credits are displayed differently. Also note "Pause Menu P1" instead of simply "Paused".

Track Differences

Big Gay Al's

  • The poles holding the banner at the starting line are untextured.
SouthParkRallyDC May17 GayAlsBanner.png
  • The minimap for Big Gay Al's still has the hidden path behind the ice skater picture, which was changed into a small hidden area in the Dreamcast port.
Prototype Final
SouthParkRallyDC May17 GayAlsMap.png SouthParkRallyDC Final GayAlsMap.png

Mountain

  • The poles holding the banner seem to be using the same texture as the banner in the prototype.
SouthParkRallyDC May17 MountainsBanner.png

Volcano

  • The background is oriented differently.
Prototype Final
SouthParkRallyDC May17 Volcano.png SouthParkRallyDC Final Volcano.png

Gridiron

  • The starting point is different. "Pickups" was changed to "Pick Ups" for the final version.
Prototype Final
SouthParkRallyDC May17 Gridiron.png SouthParkRallyDC Final Gridiron.png

Carnival

The Dreamcast exclusive Carnival track is missing several static and interactive props (i.e. cows). It also lacks any turbo pickups in any mode and regular item boxes when played in Arcade Mode or Multiplayer.

  • The bull pen fence uses a different texture and is missing the pole and the decorations around it.
Prototype Final
SouthParkRallyDC May17 CarnieRodeo.png SouthParkRallyDC Final CarnieRodeo.png
  • The uh, butt shaped fixtures emit blue smoke in a different shape instead of yellow. The last two fixtures don't emit anything at all.
Prototype Final
SouthParkRallyDC May17 CarnieLights.png SouthParkRallyDC Final CarnieLights.png
  • Referencing the season 2 episode Cow Days, the ball toss stall originally had an image of Jennifer Love Hewitt. This was replaced with an image of Frida from the episode Chickenpox, presumably for legal reasons.
Prototype Final
SouthParkRallyDC May17 CarnieBalltoss.png SouthParkRallyDC Final CarnieBalltoss.png
  • Ice Cream trailers and other stalls and decorations are missing throughout the track.
