Quartet is a port of Sega's 4-player co-op arcade game... except it was stripped down to just two players, so really it's more like Duet.

Sound Test

At the title screen, press Start (x4) on Controller 1, then 1 on Controller 2.

Level Select

At the title screen, press Start (x12) on Controller 1, then Up + Left on Controller 2, then 1 on either controller.

Regional Differences

Mary, the designated first player, was slightly redesigned for the international release. Her partner Edgar "Edger", the second player, remained untouched.

Despite the change in appearance, some graphics were overlooked, such as Mary's lives counter and the sound test/level select screen seen above. The US manual also uses art and screenshots from the Japanese release.
