Developer: Bitmasters This game has unused graphics. This game has a prototype article |
This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion. Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article? |
A much more straightforward port of the original arcade game compared to Konami's version.

Unused Graphics
Rampart was originally going to be published by Tengen, presumably without license from Nintendo; the final release was instead published by Jaleco, though Tengen is still credited on the title screen. Remnants of a "Tengen Presents..." screen can be seen in the CHR data; however, it is largely overwritten by tiles used in the splash screen reading "LICENSED BY NINTENDO OF AMERICA INC".
Directly below it is another overwritten Tengen notice, reading "Tengen And [blank] Present...". As to who the "and" referred to is lost to time; a reasonable guess would be Bitmasters, the developers of this port.
Disabled Menu Option
To do: Should be able to re-enable it with a Game Genie code, but I couldn't get it to work on emulator or on console ([1]). |
A third menu option exists, labeled "STUFF". Selecting it takes you to a simple placeholder screen.
This is a leftover from earlier in development, as the dumped prototype has the menu option and placeholder screen enabled and fully functional.
