So very stubbly.
This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion.
Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article?
Hmmm...
To do:
Apparently Rockman.EXE is meant to have several hurt sounds depending on his health, but due to a bug, only the first is used.

Rockman.EXE: Operate Shooting Star, despite what its name suggests, is not a crossover between Mega Man Battle Network and Mega Man Star Force (at least completely), but rather a remake of the first Battle Network game containing several improvements and extras, such as a crossover scenario.

The remake stayed Japanese-exclusive due to poor sales. A fan translation was eventually made due to western fan interest.

Unused Graphics

WoodMan's mugshot, which was used in early prototypes of the Game Boy Advance game, is still here.

Original Title Theme

As-is Reconstructed

Present under BGM_BLANK and s000 are an early version of the title theme that's far closer to the original game's than what was used in the final Operate Shooting Star. The sound bank doesn't have all the necessary instruments needed to play it out completely, so the above reconstruction fills in the missing instruments with ones from the original game.

Unused Mystery Data Drop

The Undernet 10 Mystery Data with 10,000 Zenny now contains 5,000 Zenny and was made rarer, but due to an error in the RNG (which was fixed in the previously released game) it can no longer be obtained. CannBall A (supposed to be found in Undernet 11) is still broken like in the original game.

Anti-Piracy

The game runs a check to make sure if it's a legitimate copy rather than a flashcart. If this check fails, several changes are made to make the gameplay more frustrating:

  • The Folder cannot be edited, so the player can only ever use the initial set of Battle Chips.
  • Minigames cannot be played.
  • Random battles in internet areas will trigger on every single step MegaMan takes, making forward progression excruciatingly slow.
