Elementary, my dear Cactus.
This needs some investigation.
Discuss ideas and findings on the talk page.

The third Roller Coaster Tycoon in the series. Now with more angles!

Hmmm...
To do:
Determine a way to activate its Debug Mode. Transfer the Debug code into a table. List all changes between Premium and Complete Edition versions.
  • There are carts and track pieces which are unused and there are strange buildings found in a folder called restaurant which have unknown usages. Add these to the page.

Unused Graphics

Inside the game's directory is a folder called test. Inside are 3 files, SceneryItems.common.ovl and SceneryItemsVisuals.common.ovl have nothing in them but text for a few directories. And Shapes.common.ovl has a bunch of textures.

Placeholder

In the game's directory, a file called nullbmp.common.ovl contains a green blob with a face on it.

Oddities

An early logo for the game can be seen on the gold coin of the ATM. It is in the style of the old RollerCoaster Tycoon logos. The final one uses a different style.

Revisional Differences

The game was rereleased on Nintendo Switch and Steam as RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Complete Edition, with some minor differences.

  • The cross on the First Aid building and on the Miscellaneous Buildings tab was changed from red to green to comply with rules of the usage of the Red Cross outside of official purposes.
  • All references to Atari have been removed, due to Atari losing the license to the game and because of a legal dispute involving Frontier and Atari.
    • Renaming a guest "Atari" in the original game made all guests applaud, as they would at the completion of a scenario. The name was simply replaced with a blank space in Complete Edition.
    • The kid wearing the Atari shirt on the title screen was changed to have a shirt with 3 vertical stripes instead.
    • The Atari shirt on the Novelty T-shirts stall was changed to be a blank red shirt.
