An early icon made by Chris Pirih can be found in the game's executable. The final icon was drawn by a graphic artist at Microsoft.

Unused sound system

The code for the 32-bit version of SkiFree contains functionality to load .WAV resources and a commandline switch ("nosound") to disable sound effects, but since the EXE doesn't contain any sound resources, no sound is played in the game. The game attempts to load 9 sounds and trigger them at specific points in the game.

Hidden Bonus Content

The game also has hidden content, like jumping over a dead tree will make it burn and some trees are moving (32 bit version, only). Jumping over a stump reveals a mushroom and many very rare instances like in which more than two yetis run after the player.

A very rare instance in which six yetis are chasing the player.
