To do: Check the game for leftover Japanese audio files. What about any graphics, such as the Japanese logo? Does the unused 1-UP box from the Wii version show up in this version as well? Compare with the Wii version; outside of the graphical and sound downgrade, there's a few other differences such as slightly different camera angles.

A PlayStation 2 port of the Wii version of Sonic Unleashed. While it controls better, it has significant sacrifices in terms of graphical fidelity (i.e. models are less detailed and there's no widescreen support) and sound quality. Otherwise, it's the same game.

Notably, this was the last Sonic game released for the PS2. While this version of the game never made it to Japan, the US version curiously includes a Japanese text setting. (This option was dropped from the European version, however.)
