From The Cutting Room Floor

This is a sub-page of Splatoon 2.

Hmmm...
To do:
  • Finish adding everything to the page.
    • Tons of things are missing.
    • Add images of anything with an unused model, taken in ObjViewer.
    • Record clips of anything that needs one.
  • Improve descriptions and videos of what's currently on the page.

Enemies

Enm_CoopSakelienBagmanLarge

A large snatcher, meant for Salmon Run. It uses the Cohock model.

Enm_CoopSakelienCannon

An unused Salmon Run enemy. It uses the model Enm_CoopSalmonCannon, which doesn't exist in retail.

Splatoon 3 introduces the Big Shot Boss Salmonid, which uses a cannon to attack, though it's uncertain if the two are connected conceptually.

Enm_CoopSakelienEscape

An unused Salmon Run enemy. It uses the model Enm_CoopSalmonPilot, which doesn't exist in retail.

Enm_Donketsu

Enm_Donketsu charges at the player in a straight line, and deals 30 damage and high knockback upon contact. It uses the Octopod model, potentially as a placeholder. It has infinite health, but takes high knockback when hit, suggesting that the intended way to beat it is to knock it off of a ledge. Like with a lot of the other unused enemies here, it gives one Power Egg on defeat. It lacks an entry in ActorDb.

This enemy is very similar to, and shares a Japanese name with, the Bully enemy from Super Mario 64 and Super Mario 3D World.

Enm_HangKing

An early Octo Shower enemy, it lacks an entry in ActorDb.

Enm_Inkrail

An enemy attached to a ride rail. It just follows the rails that have been set for it. It's not yet complete, so the ride rail doesn't need to be active for them to spawn. It deals 100 damage, which instantly breaks the player's armor if the player touches it. It has 70 health but is extremely hard to kill, though if the player does kill it, they receive one Power Egg. There is also concept art for this enemy. It uses a placeholder model, but concept art for a similar ink rail-based enemy is included in The Art of Splatoon 2. It lacks an entry in ActorDb.

Enm_PaintDrone

This is a basic enemy that flies in the air and paints the ground around it if it's covered in the player's ink. It uses a test version of the Octoball model from the original Splatoon called Test_Enm_Ball. It has 140 health, and drops one Power Egg upon death.

Enm_RollerKingTest

A test version of the Octo Samurai, it lacks an entry in ActorDb.

Enm_ShelterHideMan2

Enm_ShelterHideMan2 comes in groups of enemies which look like regular Octocopters, but shoot three shots at once. It has to be linked to an object using the actor ShelterDummyBox or ShelterDummyCylinder, and will hide behind one when the player gets close. They have 100 health and drop a single Power Egg. It lacks an entry in ActorDb.

Enm_ShinOcta

Enm_ShinOcta moves around shooting about 4-6 shots at the player. After a while, it uses a Splashdown and continues to shoot. It is also capable of shooting a Stingray beam from one of its eyes or dropping Splat Bombs. It uses a Sanitized Octotrooper model as a placeholder, though a lot bigger (scaled up by 10 on the X and Z axes, and 11 on the Y axis) and without any animations. It has 8000 health, and killing it will give the player a single Power Egg.

Enm_StampKing2

An early Neo Octostomp enemy which lacks an entry in ActorDb.

Enm_StarFish

Enm_StarFish is a strange enemy that resembles a starfish with five boss tentacles stuck together. The tentacles are attached to a (likely placeholder) Octocopter model. Its behavior is to hide in a hole in the middle of the platform until it spots the player. It then floats up and starts attacking the player with the Octocopter. The tentacles can be attacked and destroyed, but attacking the Octocopter will do nothing as despite having 100 health, it is surrounded by an invisible shield. It can be set to boost similar to the Rocket versions of enemies. If killed, this enemy will drop ten Power Eggs. It lacks an entry in ActorDb.

Enm_Summoner

An unused Octo Canyon enemy. It summons any enemy it's linked to, and runs away from the player. It has 100 health, and lacks an entry in ActorDb.

Enm_TakoNyokki

This enemy sinks into the floor and moves around, leaving a trail behind it, and then pops up to shoot two bubble shots at the player as it moves. It uses a default Octarian model, very likely as a placeholder. It deals 50 damage, and shoots bouncing shots. It has 70 health and rewards a single Power Egg upon death. It lacks an entry in ActorDb.

Enm_TakopodDev

Enm_TakopodDev acts similar to a bomb. When it sees the player, it will run towards them and start to grow and pulsate. After a short while, it explodes, covering the nearby area in enemy ink. If it's killed before then, it explodes with the player's ink instead. It deals 100 damage upon exploding, and has 500 health. This enemy drops three Power Eggs. It lacks an entry in ActorDb.

This enemy, with a slightly different design, would wind up being used in Splatoon 3 under the name of Oversized Octopod.

Enm_TakoTank

Enm_TakoTank moves away from the player when it gets too close, and follows the player when it gets too far. It seems to be either an early version of the Octobomber or a different variant of it, as it uses the same model as the Octobomber. It has the ability to create a "shield", which deals 50 damage upon impact, but it appears to have been scrapped before any coding for ranged weapons for it was done. The enemy itself has 140 health, while its shield has 800 health. It gives five Power Eggs when it dies. It lacks an entry in ActorDb.

Enm_TestMan

Hmmm...
To do:
What do these "tests" with the sub weapons entail?

An unused Octo Canyon enemy actor. It seems to have been meant to perform tests from a developer's device. It has tests related to the Sprinkler, Splash Wall, Beakons, and Ink Mines. It also rotates. It has 10,000 health, and lacks an entry in ActorDb.

Objects

Obj_Box00LOnline

A large wooden box from Octo Canyon and Octo Expansion meant for online use. It uses the WoodenBoxOnline actor, and the Octo Canyon large wooden box model. It was added in version 4.0.0.

Obj_Box00SOnline

A small wooden box from Octo Canyon and Octo Expansion meant for online use. It uses the WoodenBoxOnline actor, and the Octo Canyon small wooden box model. It was added in version 4.0.0.

Obj_CoopBindableShield

S2 Obj CoopBindableShield.png
S2 Obj CoopBindableShield AlbTexture.png
An object that resembles the shield of a Scrapper enemy from Salmon Run, albeit transparent and white. It has basic ink modeled around it, with a texture that translates to "Ink" in Japanese katakana (インク). It has a shader param animation that turns the shield red.

Obj_DamageObjOcta

An object that damages you when you touch it, meant for Octo Expansion. It doesn't use a specific model.

Obj_InkRail

Hmmm...
To do:
How does this actor differ from the singleplayer ink rails?

An actor that functions like the Ink Rails from Splatoon. Unlike the multiplayer Ink Rails, it stays activated, and has a bouncy effect when riding it.

S2 Obj InkRail.png

TestObj_DamageThunderOcta

A test object that damages you when you touch it, meant for Octo Expansion. It uses the test object model TestObj_Lift_Ikematsu79.
